Darrelle Revis and Calvin Pace may return for Bills game »
By Manish Mehta
The Jets could get back Darrelle Revis and Calvin Pace for this week’s game against the Bills. Rex Ryan seemed more optimistic that Pace (foot) would return in some capacity than Revis, who is battling a hamstring strain.
It sounds as if the team will be cautious with Revis to avoid any lingering issues with his hamstring.
“He’s done everything we asked,” Ryan said this afternoon. “He’s moving around better. He feels better. You almost have to be right at 100 percent to play corner. Or you’re going to be having to face (lingering issues) the whole season. Hopefully we can have him this week, but if not then we got to find a way to get it done.”
The Jets’ secondary sprung plenty of leaks in last night’s win against the Dolphins, who attacked Kyle Wilson time after time.
“We can’t wait on, ‘Well, wait until Darrelle gets back.’” Ryan said. “We can’t do that. Hopefully he’ll be back this week. I think Kyle - he is a rookie - it’s baptism under fire right now.”
Said Ryan: "We made a lot of mistakes... in the secondary in particular."
The coach cited a lack of communication on the back end and said his defensive backs would meet with DBs coach Dennis Thurman for some extra counseling.
As for Pace, it sounds like he could play in certain situations. Ryan said he may not start though.
"Hopefully he'll be good enough where we might be able to use him this week,” Ryan said.

Ryan denied a report that he wanted to bench Braylon Edwards for only one play, while management wanted to keep the wideout on the sideline for one quarter. The coach reiterated his stance that he was “embarrassed” by Edwards’ DWI arrest, but still supported his player.
“Hopefully we never have another issue like this (on the team),” Ryan said. “Is that really going to happen? Probably not. But we're hopeful."

Ryan’s decision to dump Gatorade on Jason Taylor was a “tribute” to the longtime Dolphin, the coach said.
"Jason never wanted to leave Miami,” Ryan said. “The truth of the matter is that they got rid of Jason.”

Ryan reiterated his confidence in Mark Sanchez, who has been turnover-free this season.
“We're not waiting on a mistake,” Ryan said. “We're waiting on a play."

It doesn’t appear that Wayne Hunter will be ready for the Bills. Ryan said that Hunter’s swollen shin “doesn’t seem to be getting any better.”

LB Jamaal Westerman is dealing with a hamstring and ankle injury. Ryan wasn’t sure whether it was a high ankle sprain, but said that the second-year pro will likely be “doubtful” to face the Bills. Vernon Gholston will have an increased role if Westerman can’t go.

Rex challenged Nick Mangold the night before the game to be the leader and anchor of the offense. Mangold, of course, missed much of the week of practice with a sprained AC joint.

Ryan on Leon Washington’s pair of kickoff returns for touchdowns yesterday: “I’m glad that we traded him to an NFC team. I’m happy for him.”
I would play it safe with Revis and sit him unless he's absolutely 100%. Can't really play around with hammies.
