Pacers training camp + video

Post#1 » by glasket » Tue Sep 28, 2010 11:28 pm

6 minute training video on pacers.com
http://www.nba.com/pacers/index_main.html

Pretty much shows our starting 5 (team blue) Collison, Mikey D, Granger, McBob and Hungry Hibbert

In the video I saw Mcbob trying to be the next Murphy (ie shooting 3's). TJ and Darren battling well at the 1 (TJ looks pretty hungry and ready for competition I thought), Foster and Tyler playing for team white at full contact and AJ for team blue. This is very pleasing to see
I saw Rolle, Rush and Dance all on team white. Dance had a nice play on defence intercepting a pass and then making a dish inside as well and a nice jumper from the free throw. He also played exclusively at point for team white
Solo had a coule of good plays there too. Could be tough to make a decision on how to get us to 15 players by camps end.
Paul George with a nice steal and layup. Looks like he is getting to the passing lanes and getting hands on passes/defelctions, much like he showed in summer league.

Your thoughts?

McRoberts took one three. The shot was a wide open shot that was created when the ball was fed into Danny in the post, and then reversed to the open man. McRoberts hit the shot.

In the real world, that's actually known as a good basketball play.
I have no idea what you're talking about, and clearly, neither do you.

They do seem largely wasted.

count55 should be the interim coach if we can somehow find a way to fire O'Brien. Any suggestions?

I can't watch the video, but is Collison's wrist good now? I know they said it would take a month to heal.

Yes. For the first time in a while, we have everyone healthy and available to play.

Yes Collison's wrist looked fine.
However AJ Price did have a knee brace thing on.

Yo, I'm still expecting my money from you stealing the name Dance from me.

Edit - I had to copyright this name with both spellings because I got clowns tryin to jack my name.

I've watched some more videos of practice from the pacers website.

I am really impressed by Solo. He is getting open shots, rebounding and playing the pick and roll well.
Paul George is always getting his hands in the passing lanes.
Mikey D has been featuring prominantly and playing well.
Lance a few nice pull up shots and taking it to the hoop

So far the stand outs for me are - Solo and Mikey D, with PG a close 3rd.

Haven't seen much of Rolle from the videos. I know it's a small sample size though.

Yeah, from the videos I feel like almost every one of our newcomers is showing promise. I'm very excited even for the pre-season to begin. I think that we have a lot of talent on this team. It's just a matter of piecing them together effectively and creating a group cohesion.

Couple observations from Wednesday and Thursday scrimmage:

1. Mickey D looked really fluid out there and I loved the pump fake he made the rookie PG bit on.
2. DC could not stay in front of TJ to save his life. Hopefully his on ball D is better than what's shown in the video.
3. TJ made a couple sweet passes and looked pretty good...like he's fightin for his job.
4. Tyler was not shown in one play in either of those videos. :-?
5. We barely scored inside.

He's fighting for ANY job.

He's been cleared for full contact, but scrimmages are usually at the end of practices, and he's probably being held out as he eases back into it.

TJ had an open layup but kicked it out like he always does. He drives me crazy. Dunleavy looks like he has his legs under him. Lance and Paul look good.

I really don't know who we're going to cut.
