Carmello?

Post#1 » by MLSE » Fri Sep 10, 2010 3:18 pm

Why aren't New Orleans busting their ass at the chance to get Carmello Anthony? It would make them a helluva team and would keep Chris Paul happy.

I'm sure you could sway him to want to come play with Paul and I think Anthony would compliment Paul amazingly.

What can we offer them that another team isn't? We can give a LOT of cap relief for sure, and even take back some bad contracts, but our young prospects aren't world beaters really.

They really don't have any bad contracts that need dumping though, so I'm sure they'll just want picks and prospects.

How do we know they aren't trying or haven't tried getting Carmelo? Because we haven't read about it or because some 'source' hasn't caught wind of it? Do we hear of each and every call the Hornets make or receive? I doubt it. Heck, did anyone even know they were even looking Trevor Ariza's way until word came down about a 4 team trade? There was no rumor about Ariza to the Hornets until it was practically a done deal.

If they were "busting their ass", you would hear about it.

And if they are already, well I haven't really seen a topic on it, I thought it was a good idea though given Paul's desires.

Not really. Everyone caught wind that Paul asked for a trade, and then that was totally false as he never did ask for a trade.

I don't believe anything until it's done tbh.

Thornton/Ariza/Peja/Future 1st for Melo & scraps, isnt a terrible deal, but I'm sure the Nuggets could do better.

Return to New Orleans Pelicans
