My caution here is that it's one thing to talk the talk, but people don't suddenly change their personality, or their core character. DJ admits he's shy and not assertive ( = not a leader). He's already demonstrated that he's not the toughest guy out there (he wilted under LB's coaching and critique). So my caution is to not get wrapped up in the warm and fuzzy things coming our of camp. Part of this is happening, and part of this is Bonnell projecting. DJ still has to prove it, he has to prove it all night...prove it all right...( say's The Boss).

Warm and fuzzy??? Whose getting warm and fuzzy.I want DJ to do better and he has to for us to return to the playoffs and boosting his confidence is the 1st step in order for him to do that.I've always thought DJ would be a starter in this league,so these "warm and fuzzy" responses coming out of camp hasn't influenced my view of him as a player one bit, although it is good to hear he's starting to step up to the plate.

Hey, I understand what you're saying. Believe me, I want DJ to sudddenly turn into the second coming of Chris Paul! I want Diaw to grow a sack and become an undersized Karl Malone. And even if they don't reach those heights, we need them to reach their full potential every game. I want them to succeed, because NOT doing so means we're 2 key players short.
I continue to wait...and hope...for the return to Hornet's glory.

If DJ is here then we have no choice but to support him. I've been very hard on him and wished he was dealt this offseason, but if he stays then I will get behind him 100% and hope he proves me wrong and succeeds. At least he will up his value so if there's ever an opportunity to get an elite point guard like Paul, then we have more ammo for a trade.

My whole thing with DJ is consistency. We cannot have one great game every week and the rest so-so if we expect to make the playoffs.

This is true. I remember yelling at the TV when Morrison's name came out.

I would easily jump on the opportunity to defend my favorite player...but I can't even attempt to pronounce your name. I'd rather you live with that.

:o :o :-? :-? Unless Crittenton or Collins show more we need to start DJ. Livingston looks like physically he will not be able to survive and looks like a mistake before he ever gets on the court.
We should trade his contract with Diaw as soon as possible for something of value.

And Nate Robinson, who has a similar build to collins. Collins might not have that insane vertical but he's also probably stronger.

Twice bitten maybe? They've been sort of stung in the past picking up Ammo, McMay and Lexy's options.

I also wonder if they are waiting on the outcome of the new CBA that is being discussed?

Or possible trade discussions.

As RB said:

And one more reason to exercise those options, at least in the case of Augustin. He's technically playing on a one-year contract right now (his third-season option), so if the Bobcats didn't exercise that fourth year, they couldn't trade him without his permission. On a team where everyone is a commodity, that makes little sense.

If there was a trade coming it would make more sense to sign them than not to sign them.

Unless the trade involves getting another PG (ex: Harris) without giving up DJ. If you're not confident that you can deal DJ later, don't extend him.

With Hendo, well, he hasn't earned the money but if the team extended Ajinca, they should extend Hendo too.
