The watch is on for the most road losses

Post#1 » by kellmellus50 » Mon Sep 27, 2010 12:54 pm

The Lions lost their 22nd straight road game Sunday. The record is 24, set by ... the Lions, of course.
The Lions will go for No. 23 next week in Green Bay. That is an awful matchup for them in every way. The Packers might be the best passing team in the league, and the Lions have an awful pass defense
After that, the next road game is in New York on Oct. 17. Then comes the potential record-breaker: at Buffalo in mid-November

I think we can beat Buffalo, they have bigger problems than us...probably.

I believe the coach will be fired before the season is over.Someone has to be accountable for this mess again.

We're talking about the Fords here though who are notorious for long leashes. They wouldn't fire Jim this year cause if we have an abysmal record it really won't make that much of a difference to bring somebody new in anyhow, and the only options for the most part would be an interim coach that would be just be temporary until they come up with a new guy in mind during the offseason. They are going to want more time to search and figure out who might be the hot names from college perhaps before deciding. Any big name coaches out there right now have already been passed over or aren't interested. You know its not like Jimmy Johnson is all of a sudden going to have a change of heart and want back in the NFL, but even in that event, the Cowboys would fire their coach and get him. What about Cowher? Well if he were going to come back this year then somebody else would probably get him too.

Detroit sets NFL mark
According to STATS LLC, the Lions' 3-40 record in their past 43 games is the lowest winning percentage of any NFL team in any 43-game span since 1920.

Detroit's winning percentage of .070 is far worse than the .100 percentage of the Dayton Triangles (from 1924-29). The next worst is the .140 percentage turned in by the Houston Oilers (1982-85).

Maybe everybody should show up to Ford Field in one of these for the next home game?
