working

but saying "one please," is always so refreshing. even if you only have to say it to yourself as you enter through free admission.

If I wasn't out of town today, I would have made the trip with you. Hope it was a good time.

Word is, South Beach is ecstatic that they
won't be seeing Millsaps talents again this season...

Jefferson was totally lost throughout the scrimmage, but he was trying really hard and got better in the offense as it went along. Passed more than usual. Hayward didn't play well. Evans played great, can really rebound, freak athlete. Kirilenko played really well. CJ got injured on the first play on a block attempt against Millsap, hopefully he's fine. It was a pretty rough scrimmage, but it was still fun.

Overall observations: Clearly still learning the system, first time shooting in ESA; Elson is a really good fit; Evans is a sick athlete; Hayward is going to struggle at rim, but is fearless and is going hard; Millsap and AK were fantastic; Jefferson got more easy baskets in this scrimmage than he got last year. Passing is contagious and this team does a lot of it. Everyone played hard. Watson and Bell are a good defensive backcourt.

So I've heard.

* Jefferson looked winded
* He made some nice post moves
* He passed the ball much more then he did last year
* He got some easy baskets

What about his defense?

Defense didn't stand out as either good or bad. He did looked winded throughout the game, but I don't think he's ever been that athletic before.

Had a grand time there. Then I went to Happy Sumo. Then I watched Hubble 3-D at the Planetarium. I had a very Delaney-centric spiritual conference day. Jazz-Sushi-astrophysics.

Evans needs to put on some weight, but the way he gets to the ball is craazy. He gets up and he gets up quick. Al definitely didn't look totally comfortable with what he was supposed to be doing, but he had some nice moments. I think he'll be fine.

AK is definitely a presence on D at the 4. Millsap had a nice game, but AK made things very tough for him. The scrimmage was really sloppy and the shooting was generally abysmal, but the effort level was good and I liked that guys were challenging a lot of shots, even if it meant picking up a foul.

I keep hearing about good things about Evans.Dwill lobbied for him to be at training camp so hey maybe he can grab 5 to 8 minutes on the floor.

Goddamn.... Fes makes Andrew Bynum look like Hakeem. Come on son!

I'm praying we sign Jeremy Evans, if he can play defense at the 3, that would be amazing. Did he mostly get minutes at the 4 in the scrimmage?
