Jefferson: "I Didn't Have To Pass Last Year"

Did he just say that? I might have just lost respect for Al.

is he implying he couldnt complete a kickout from a double team because the offense didn't call for it? Thats about on par with Shaq saying he hasn't hit hit free throws because it wasnt apart of the gameplan. Passing is passing, you pass the ball when you're supposed to, it has nothing to do with the Jazz or Wolves' offense...

By the way, Al's up to 280 pounds again.

"I didn't have to pass" seems like a lazy excuse for him being not able to pass out of the double team even if a teammate is left wide open.

I'll take the high road and think that the coaching staff/front office told him he was allowed to be a black hole in order to show off his scoring abilities to potiential trade partners.

Hopefully because he know's he's playing center again because of the Okur injury.

I just can't be mad at this guy....does it still count as homerism when he's not on your team anymore? How about we call it "Empty nest homerism". :D

Why would he pass to a bunch of nobodies on a team no one has heard of ?

Addition by subtraction.

Yea well Utah wont let you get away with that crap so it's a great fit for him. If our coaching staff was really forcing him to pass more and he didn't then I am losing more faith in them.

I wonder if thats what Al meant in this. Sloan will force you to pass. Theres not really much forcing here.

All I know is PA continually brings up how Flynn would yell and cuss out the coach last year. That crap sounds like it should be unacceptable to me. How the hell is a rookie going to berate a coach like that? It puts a bad taste in my mouth and it can set a bad precedent for the rest of the squad.

I think it's interesting that in a recent interview on the timberwolves website checking in with Flynn and his rehab, he kept calling Rambis "Kurt" instead of "Coach" that seemed a bit off to me.

From what I've heard from PA, it sounds like he's witnessed this once or twice. I think PA is just making something out of a routine NBA thing AND maybe trying to set a tone for when Rubio gets here (What I mean it maybe PA is a huge Rubio supporter and wants to take Flynn down a peg). Is it right to disrespect your coach? Of course not, but it can be frustrating for Jonny when he's asked to do things he doesn't agree with or isn't good at. I'm sure it happens once in a while with most rookie PGs and it probably isn't anything to worry about.
Also, Jonny seems like a good egg and from watching games I rarely saw him look upset.

Also, it sounds like Kurt is a great teacher, but I think one facet he might need to work on his player trust/relations. I'd think you'd need to be approachable, or more of a "players coach" to sell yourself when the system isn't working (or having good players actually look worse throughout a season and playing scrubs big minutes). Being a hard ass works for Popovich and Sloan, but they make the playoffs.

Thank C.Lupus. Reminds me that I've been meaning to credit him under it.

I wouldn't make to much of a deal out of that.

Jefferson asked by PA announcer if crowd for free scrimmage is more than he had for any Timberwolves game last season. #UtahJazz

Talking smack already. Beasley and Love will combine for 50 points in their first game vs Utah.

Does every black hole actually SAY that at some point?
