Suns Board Fantasy Leagues Discussion Thread

Post#1 » by Miklo » Mon Oct 4, 2010 1:23 am

And the season's over, time for some awards, promotions and demotions!

First, announcements by league:

Image

Premier League

The good...
FIRST - Miklo
SECOND - Whambamslam
THIRD - TASTIC and Risensun (tied)

And the following will be giving up their spot in the Premier League in exchange for a ticket to the D-League next season:
Nashrambler (11th)
Get Nashty Squad (12th)
Shuttlesworth (13th)

--------------------------------Image--------------------------------

D-League

The good...these 3 will get to challenge MY title in the Premier League next season!
FIRST - BringinDaRuckus
SECOND - Phungk
THIRD - Coldbyfletch

And the following will be giving up their spot in the D-League in exchange for a ticket to the Division 3 League next season:
Cold5 (11th)
phxsports (12th)
KPCB34 (13th)

----------------------Image----------------------

Division 3 League

The good...this league gets a little tricky so these are the winners but not all earn promotions
FIRST - phxsports
SECOND - febah07
THIRD - KopLegend

Since phxsports' main league was the D-League, and he was demoted, he will not earn a promotion to the D-League. In fourth place is me and 5th is Kerrsed, who both also are not eligible for a promotion as we will already be in the Premier League. In 6th place, th3matrix1 also will already be in the D-League. phungk, in 7th place, ALSO will already be in the D-League. The remaining positions were not active through the season so there will not be a third promotion from Division 3 this year.

And the following are the bottom 3 but with the current setup there is no demotion from Division 3 so they are free to participate in this league next year:
MrCheckOne2 (8th)
grumpysaddle (9th)
Vincent Yin (10th)

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Now for some general interesting facts...

-the league manager won first place in both the Premier and the D- Leagues. It's rigged!

-mods' power reigns supreme even in fantasy sports land! TASTIC won last year, and I wasn't a mod yet so me losing made sense. This year both of us are mods, and both of us placed in the top 3 in Premier League.

-not only was Risensun the first time someone tied for a medal in my recent memory, but he did so in the Premier League on a ticket he earned from a promotion out of the D-League last year.

-Besides Risensun, TASTIC is the only other to have won a medal this year and last. Both of his were in the Premier League, but me and whambam blocked him from a repeat gold medal this year at least.

-KP, hate to tell ya but you've earned the first repeat demotion. It's alright, there's not a 4th league...yet :P

-a few people played in multiple leagues. As we specified, competition in a lower league obviously doesn't put you in line for a promotion if you also participated in a higher league. But let's take a look (not counting auction league here as we ran that separate from the 3-tiered league):
Kerrsed - Premier 9th place, D-League 4th place, Division 3 5th place (average 6th place)
Miklo - Premier 1st place, D-League 4th place (average 2.5th place)
Phungk - D-League 2nd place, Division 3 7th place (average 4.5th place)
th3matrix1 - D-League 8th place, Division 3 6th place (average 7th place)

-finally, in the category of "the bottom 3 saved your ass from demotion" is nevetsov in the Premier League and Blackification in the D-League. You guys are lucky, just like I was last year!

If I messed something up or left someone out, just post in the thread and I'll fix it.

@TASTIC on your Trade proposal...

I'm already going to be nearly last in blocks. And now your trying to take two of my only players who get them for people who don't have any

Plus I was really pumped to get Calderon on my team, and he was on the trading block as the player I want him to be this year stat-wise, so I think I'll pull him off until about Mid-season when picking him up will start to look reeeeal good. :)

I figure I've got enough depth there, and saw Favours sitting there...can't see him not getting minutes this year...

Hey Nashrambler would you want to do something like Dirk and Lamar for Josh Smith and say Garnett or Blake Griffin?

Nah I think I'll hold off, I actually lose on rebounds in that deal

Plus I can't lose much more FT% as it is, and those players both SUCK at those, because I don't like KG this year fantasy wise. Lovin the blocks tho :)

@bballforever...

Do you have any interest in a Jeff Green/David Lee for DNowitzki/Thaddeus Young? Or Green/Lee for Nowitzki/Ersan? Or... DNowitzki/MontaEllis for Lee/Carmelo? Anything like that?

Hey thematrix3 dude... I was wondering if you could see what email address I registered for the league under in the Division III league... I can't remember for the life of me which address I used and none of my old yahoo email accounts seem to be working anymore... I think I might have had to register a new email when i registered for the league... just can't remember what it was... :/

thanks.

First offers this early often seem like a joke

Negociation and checking out who is available is what the point is, u should know that by now after all the trades/negociations we've gone thru over the past couple years

Good to know that Durant is untradable for example, so I don't needa waste any time coming up with deals for him in the future...

Maybe I'll go after PP and Bogut later on, problem with trades this early is that the season didn't start yet and nobody knows what numbers they'll put up, so everybody values their own players higher then the other managers.

Haha no I understand, we've done many negotiations before and we'll do more in the future which is why I thought I'd give you a hard time on this one...usually I keep negotiations behind closed doors but I mean, as starting offers go it wasn't exactly a conversation starter :D

grumpy, I'll PM th3matrix1, yeah only mods can PM or users can PM mods, that's why you aren't able to. You should be able to click "League", then "Managers" and see, but I"m not positive regular managers can view that so I'll message him.

^^

Eh, lets just say that I'm not much of a Dirk fan, to put it nicely.

At the right price, I'd bite for Joe Johnson and Gay, maybe Murphy too.

None of my players are untradeable so long as the offer is good enuf, so don't hesitate to send me trade proposals
