Re: UW @ MSU Game Thread
I wish they could transplant my brain or anyone who gave a damn and understood football into someone like Sorensen's head.
Hey, it's a stretch play. How about a dead sprint to the sideline instead of mirroring the RB and he can cut up field for 13 yards.
Hey, toss to the sideline! I'm just gonna fight this lineman instead of getting to the outside!
And I'll just chill in the middle of the endzone where I can clearly see nobody is coming in front or to the side of me.
Seriously, the Wisconsin offense always calls plays not to lose, and the defense always makes the players robots. I realize the college game is faster than anything I ever played so I can't totally play armchair QB, but I see them make the wrong decision 90% of the time.

This is just a really slow team, outside of Kendricks and the frosh halfback they really are a negative when it comes to speed and athleticism at almost all positions...Love Watt, like Kohout...but what a slow slow team.

I really wish Oregon football was transplanted to Wisconsin.
I guess they've had their frustrating failures as well but I like a team that prefers to try to win the game, instead of hoping to keep it close.

I disagree...wish Stanford football was and that is simply because the strength of this recruiting base is big, rawbone O-lineman....they are not suited for the spread offense, they are suited for an NFL style offense....Stanford's staff just knew how to recruit a great QB and is far superior.

Well sure, that hypothetical would be that we could recruit their guys too. I realize that we can't run the spread game with our recruiting base.

I was thinking before the game today what a huge loss Borland will be in the Big Ten. I'm surprised Rouse isn't better than the scub Sorenson.

Take it FWIW - Settle seems to be throwing his support behind one guy...

Good. I hope White does start. Clay is fat and slow, can't make anyone miss and runs like a pussy for a guy his size.

Besides doing it simply because he's performing the beast, I would also do it to motivate Clay. Get him to run with some fire.

Clay CAN be a total beast. I've long wanted him to get his weight down (I've been "petitioning" for him to play at 235-240 for a long time now), so you can infer my stance on the matter...

Sorry for the typo. Meant to say "best" as in White is the best RB currently and dropping Clay down to #2 might motivate him to run with more intensity.

Re: UW @ MSU Game Thread
I didn't even notice your typo - my "beast" was irrelevant to yours
No matter what happens, as much as Chryst has pissed me off so far this season, at least everyone seems to agree White needs more touches.

I think the Badgers are athletic enough on offense to go say 7-1 or 6-2 in the Big Ten, but with Borland out the defense really lacks speed and playmakers except for Watt. When he gets blocked, the front four really struggles creating pressure and the LB unit can't chase down ball carriers sideline to sideline. They struggle in coverage also. The secondary as a whole has been better than i feared, but if Brinkley is supposed to be the best CB on the roster, that's not good. Valai and Henry have been solid at safety.

White and Clay compliment each other perfectly.
Now if we could get a vertical game going, our offense would be pretty scary.
