Pretty much. We lost the franchise center, LeBron and beat reporter all in one summer.

Well this is incredibly stupid. This isn't even good for Heat fans, imo. A lot of extra hate will be circulating around the league because of this. Honestly, basketball would be a more "mature" sport without ESPN. If it wasn't for them, half of the new revulsion in the league which spolstered as a result of the offseason would not be there.

If this is just like the ESPN LA or ESPN Dallas sites than that is perfectly fine although the 72 game tracker and Heat vs all time teams is way too much overkill without them even having played a game.

However if this is actually a link on the ESPN NBA homepage and the Miami Heat are the only team with anything of this type then this is just a joke and ESPN is further tarnishing the image of the Heat.

LOL you right, we did lose our beat reporter - just noticed they mentioned Windhorst will be in Miami covering them.

He carved out a nice niche for himself as ESPN's "Lebron coverage guy".

Those who wish not to view it can ignore it. Don't see what's wrong with it. ESPN already has specific sites for LA/Chicago/NY. This really is no different except they are ignoring the rest of Miami sports.

I already have. I haven't cared about ESPN as I used to years ago.

Even though they have a dedicated site for NY, everything about ESPN is biased. I want an objective sports outlet to get my news fix from and they aren't cutting it anymore.

All media is biased. Even ones who try to pride themselves on being independent from opinion (e.g. BBC) end up being biased - you can't change human nature, and human nature is to have an opinion.

Anyway, I don't know how this affects anyone? If you don't want to read it, you don't have to. Likewise if you want to read it, you can do!

ESPN is a business, and they've spoken about recently how all pages / stories about Miami Heat are their most viewed pages. You can hate all you want but they're just giving people what they want.

While true, ESPN is taking it to another level that you can't find in many different outlets. Okay, Fox News is right up there with them but that's another story...

If they want to be objective, as someone mentioned earlier, just create a Miami Heat page and be done with it. If you turn on ESPN during the NBA regular season, I'm sure you can't go 5 minutes without hearing something Heat related. But if I remember correctly, there are still 29 other teams to discuss and the Lakers are still the team to beat.

My point is, it's obvious that ESPN only tailors themselves to the popular team - or I'll simply say it, the team where they are sure many "fair weather" fans will flock too. I'm not calling anyone out but it's true.

Their coverage is only focused on the sports fan who's attention span isn't more than 30 seconds. To any serious/diehard fan who has stuck with their team through the bad, the real bad, and the good, they are lucky to get a mention and are left out to dry.

And please don't that that I'm hating, I'm not. I simply want objectibility.

I stopped watching ESPN other than for live sporting events. What a joke of a network.

With all of this "U MAD?" nonsense being thrown around and threads like this, why do so many Heat fans get upset at the amount of haters that are rampant right now? Isn't gloating about this and that meme just feeding the haters?

How is ESPN biased? Because they cover what the majority of people want to see? Because they try to get ahead of stories? Not every fan is a diehard fan, and I'm pretty sure this was created to cater to the more casual fans. I'm not sure why everyone is acting like they are outraged...

This is ridiculous and is pretty insulting to previous teams who have dominated eras of bball (bulls, lakers, spurs)... but oh well, whatever gets them ad hits right? Personally I prefer to read the trickled down news/material that arrives to these forums anyway.

I have nothing against the Heat and Bosh is still a player I'll continue to follow, but this hype is gonna get nauseating as the season goes on.

ESPN had always been a joke. Now it's actually a funny joke. Just look at how stupid they are.

I'm just holding out hope that this is a subliminal attempt by ESPN to pwn LeBron's reputation further.
Perhaps Dan Gilbert has quietly taken over the network.

This is just a step up from the "LeBron Tracker" during Free Agency in which he was the only free agent with a dedicated site all to himself.

Natural progression for ESPN.

OMFG

They should just add a -Biology tab- so I can read up on what kind of helicopter LeBron's arms are comparable to.

Season hasn't started yet and I'm already sick of ESPN, can't wait to throw my remote at the TV everytime JVG and Mark Jackson make some insane comment.

Thanks, Flash. I really don't understand the people who get up in arms about "haters" when they are the ones feeding them in the first place. If you're going to be the villain, don't get mad when you are treated like one.

Fantastic! I didn't know where to go to hear about information about my new favorite team The Miami Heat. Now that ESPN has an index of all of the cool tidbits from every single coverage I have a solution.
