The Hoophype player profile shows Fesenko as weighing 235 pounds. Shows you how reliable the site is.

I'm totally excited about this! And by "excited" I mean this is the stupidest thing I've ever heard... since The Decision.

It's fairly clear ESPN are the Heat's lapdogs.
Speaking of ESPN and reverting to the topic: I wonder if anyone could post just the Jazz-related Hollinger stuff...

Oh and this thing has us ranked 3rd in the Northwest. That's fairly stupid.

Third is entirely possible. OKC is primed to really improve this year and if Portland stays healthy they are incredibly talented. The big problem is that many people have the Nugs ahead of us, which is ridiculous. That team is done for a few years at least.

Re: Jazz Team Preview
Everyone is on the Okla City and Portland bandwagons because they are up and coming teams. They lack sufficent veteran experience to make a true run at it all. Western conference finals is the best case scenario for them.
The Jazz have an excellant mix of veteran experience but not old veterans. Dwill, Millsap, Miles and Jefferson are experienced but still have young legs. AK-47, Memo, and Raja Bell may be on the decline somewhat in their careers but are much smarter players than they were 3-5 years ago. If this team plays well together and commits to playing good solid D, then the finals are in their grasp. Home court advantage (#1 seed) is needed to make a real run at the championship.
The Lakers in the West are getting old as Kobe starting to get alot of nagging injuries and Bynum cant stay healthy and is out until December. Derek Fisher is on the decline. Paul Gasol must stay healthy otherwise they could drop to a 4th seed in the West.
The Jazz will be Northwest Division Champions and #1 seed the West with 58 wins. 37-4 at home and 21-20 on the road.
Western Conference Finals: Lakers win in game 7 in Utah as Kobe wins it down the stretch. The Jazz lack the Kobe Bryant type player to win that type of game. DWIll is a star player but super star players like Kobe, Duncan, Pearce/Garnet, and Stockton/Malone (only Jordan beats them) win titles.
Finals Prediction Miami beats Lakers in 6 games.
The Miami Lebrons get crowned!

if that's their road record, they won't get beyond the 2nd round. .500 ball on the road doesn't cut it for elite teams.

Re: Jazz Team Preview
The Jazz will not be much better than a 500 road team thus getting #1 seed in the West is a true necessity bc the Jazz will be basically unbeatable all year at home. The Jazz are not an elite (or should I say the best team yet and are more like the 4th best team in the NBA behind #1 Heat; #2 Orlando, #3 Lakers, and #4 Utah. Home court advantage is there only hope and I think they can get the 3rd best record in the NBA behind the unbeatable Heat and the talented and determined Magic.
Top 4 seed in the West!!! Guaranteed!!!

The NW division will be won by whichever of Portland, OKC and Utah has the fewest games missed to injuries.

This. I feel like it's our season to have few injuries, but then again, Portland could easily just tell me to gfy.

Word is, South Beach is ecstatic that they
won't be seeing Millsaps talents again this season...

Re: Jazz Team Preview
I actually think this season is going to be tougher for the Jazz than most people are thinking. It is nice to have some veterans in the locker room, and they will be much needed, but the amount of change we are going through is a lot. We are talking about having at least 5, and possibly up to 7 or 8 new guys playing legitimate minutes in our system, there are bound to be growing pains.
I still think we are a 50 win team, but there will be some rough patches where we lose games we shouldn't lose.

Re: Jazz Team Preview
While I agree about OKC, Portland acquired Andre Miller and Marcus Camby (to the existing Joel Przybilla) to be the "sufficient veteran experience" and complement the "experienced but young legs" of all of the young players, Wesley Matthews included, who have playoff experience.HolyToledo wrote:Everyone is on the Okla City and Portland bandwagons because they are up and coming teams. Thanks for letting us get Matthews by the way. He's looked outstanding thus far and is more versatile than was our common perception.
Here's to a competitve and injury free game on Thursday

Re: Jazz Team Preview
I hope every player on your team breaks their legs on Thursday.
And Nate McMillan ends up getting dragged around holding onto one of his players legs ala JVG.

I'll take the high road and you the low and hope that our paths never cross.

Blazers are really high on my "sport fan hate list". Just can't forget about Matthews... even if time will probably soften me about having Bell, Watson, Miles, Hayward for the same money Wesley already got... I know in my gut we will miss him...
