I like Jones a lot (more than Dampier personally), BUT is he really going to get PT to show how great of a rebounder he can be? Dampier is "proven" to be solid enough to be a backup for Lopez.

I don't know. I dont mind not keeping Atkins. Big "who cares" on that.

Dampier will be our Jarron Collins

Nash/Dragic/Janning
JRich/Dudley
Hill/Childress
Hedo/Warrick/Clark/Lawal
Lopez/Frye/Dampier/Jones

Sarver might consider it if he keeps under the tax!

Other teams in the mix for Dampier include the Raptors, Rockets and Bucks.

Interesting. So I guess we'd be using our Bi-Annual exception for the acquisition.

I don't know if we can give Dampier the minutes he could get on, well, any of those other teams. Lopez and Frye will spend about all their combined time at center since Hedo, Warrick, Lawal and Clark are all fighting over PF minutes. So Lopez and Frye combined should easily be 48 minutes...we'd be using Damp for like 2 minutes per game, if that - possibly benching him until injuries arise. Don't know if he'd bite on that.

It is funny that we are finally worried about having too many legitimate front-court players...

Dampier would be a GREAT insurance policy if Rolo goes down... (honestly i have a feeling he won't stay healthy)

I'll ride the optimism train and say let's get him! In all honesty he'd be a good signing for us.

Will it get us a title?

No.

Not when the Lakers and Heat and potentially Boston stand in your way.

Now if we had kept Amare and then added dampier maybe.

I still say we get him though.

Chicago needs him more, with Boozer out.
Damp would get more minutes there, and I could still dislike him.

I think Jones can hold his own during the same minutes. He's much more active which better suits our bench.
What ? Me Worry ?

Yeah Frank but who would you rather have guarding Bynum or Duncan in the playoffs? Jones or Dampier.

No brainer.

He wouldn't make an impact in the regular season really it'd be the postseason we'd see an impact from Dampier.

But we might regret signing him if teams play hack a dampier because he's horrible from the line

Suns currently have 1 and may possibly get 1 more. Hardly seems like too many, especially since it doesn't address the problem at PF.
