Great game tonight, tonnes of positive signs for the season and this is what you have to whine about...

Bargs played like ####. He deserves the heat when every single player on the roster outscores him. That said, the coaches should have learned by now not to put him out there with Jose. JJ should be starting.

Offensively Bargs did play like crap, no doubt... but my point is why focus on the negative when there were sooooo many good things that came out of tonights effort.

Loving what I saw from the team as a whole. This is solid Euro ball. Teams running their offenses, using their passing lanes and playing some gritty defense. (It wasnt pretty, but I liked it)

Individually, I liked Anderson. He is perfect as an insurance big in case one of our main guys go out. (Bargs, Amir, Davis and Dorsey)

Kleiza also stood out, but he is looking to prove himself. I dont see him planning on staying too long here. We will probably have to trade him to a team looking to go over the top like Dallas or Orlando. We should trade him next off season if he keeps up his good play before he comes back down to earth ala Jose Calderon.

I liked what I saw from DeMar DeRozan. He is showing how good he can be, but needs to do it consistently.

Weems is showing he could be a good 2nd person off the bench.

Jose looked like he tried playing adequate d which I like. Offensively, we dont have any worries from the PG spot. Defensively, I dont think it will be like last year, but still not good enough.

Jack came in the way I was expecting him too.

Im still not sold on Bargnani though. He is the only player that dissapointed me tonight.

Im not sure if its just me, but Triano's coaching also looked a little bit better tonight. Proper usage of his time outs, good substituions (For the Most Part) and good sets coming out of time outs. (Players just didnt finish, but the potential was there)

Andrea's game was disappointing but I am sure he will bounce back

Linas was every bit what I expected. Preseason or not he will be one constant to this team. Garbajosa 100.0

I also like more the free flowing offensive sets. We should have really tried that with Bosh teams (well maybe the Smitch tried but with older supporting cast)

This was HOW I expected the Raps to play, but I never thought they'd beat a team by 50.....yeah yeah, it's preseason, but the hustle was awesome. I think Jose and Bargs are still going to frustrate the hell outta me, but the effort from the other guys will make up for it. I don't even care if we lose every game as long as they play their hearts out.

I like your thinking about building assets and selling "high" on them. But why must I ask, would Klieza not see himself here long term? He disliked being a role player in Denver, to the point that he would rather take the money and be the man in Greece for a few years than continue to toil in the shadows.

He is very adamant about liking Toronto the city and the Raptors organization for giving him the role that he has now. Players genuinely like Brian Colangelo, and seem loyal to him - particularly ones that he aggressively scouts and builds up who might not be seeing that attention from other sources. Klieza can make a name for himself here this season, so why would he want to give that up to play off the bench and as a role player?

This game actually gave me confidence in Triano. The players clearly have bought in to what he has been teaching as evidenced by the effort. And I think having P.J. sitting next to him on the bench helped add a look of credibility. We looked like an NBA team.

Tonight the Raps showed flashes of everything they lacked last year. We seem to be moving towards a pest-like, get-under-opponents-skin type of attitude on the defensive end.

Oh... and don't let the door hit you on your way out Dupree.

Dorsey can contribute on this team if he gets an opportunity. He is a way better player than Reggie Evans. He is a really good defender whereas all Evans does is run around like a chicken with his head cut off.

We played like we did in summerleague and basically did everything we didn't do last year in this game. Agressive defense, challenging everything at the rim, getting out and running. If we really buy in and play this kind of agressive defense during the regular season we are going to surprise everyone because we will be able to score.

Well it's only one pre season game, but it looks like the direction and attitude of our team was more similar to how the Rockets (with Battier, Hayes, Lowry etc) played last season than the rubbish that went on here last season. And that's all we can really ask for of a young team, even if we still suck.

We might have a different high scorer every game. At least if they press, hustle, run and share the ball like that we'll be fun to watch.
