Bargs, Jose and Evans should NEVER be on the floor at the same time. EVER
why was hakeem called "the dream"??"

Because it rhymes with 'Olajuwon'.

Yeah, but he also played a Euroleague season before that, not a full NBA season, so I think he'll be OK.

Of course Kleiza is going to fall off a bit, he's shooting too well, but I think the important thing from this game was that he took good shots all over the court.

I have to agree, that's what impressed me about his game as well, he didn't really force anything.

Speaking of Point Guards, do you think Steve Nash maybe wants to join our team after yesterday? :p

Phoenix is not promising at all this year in my opinion.

Well, an european season is not THAT short. The last year that bargs played in europe he played somehting like 75+ games. If your team goes ahead in every competition, the final amount of games is similar to an nba RS (and several games are a lot tougher than nba RS games, expecially in euroleague). If you add international competitions, it's fair to think that last year Kleiza played much more games than any other raptors player.

They have one game changer, a solid secondary scorer in J-Rich, a wild card in Turk, and a whole bunch of role players dependent on Nash creating opportunities. They're either going to overachieve (highly likely) or get dismantled by the deadline.

Phoenix will be half decent because Nash is a once in a generation type of PG and JRich is a very good SG. Grant Hill is also just solid all around. I still don't know why a team would want Turk, a supposed point-forward, when you have Nash who SHOULD have the ball in his hands every play and Hill who is already kind of a point forward as well. It's not like Turk is a great scorer.

Regardless of scoring 120+ in a meaningless game, I really hope Triano has some much, much better plans for bargnani on offense. He needs to get the ball in much better places. And again regardless of this meaningless game the offense needs a food chain. If Trianos plan is to give Bargnani the ball 50 feet away from the rim, while having a free for all offense its going to be an atrocious season.

This defensive system was better and less painful to watch though.

ATLTimekeeper wrote:The only thing worthwhile to take from this is that they have a sense of pride.

The offense looks rough, but there's so many shot-makers and finishers on the team that they can afford to be disorganized. They won't be able to play defense like that most of the year, but they might be able to squeeze out a few extra wins and at least set a tone for the following year.

As for individual performances, I liked what I saw from Julian Wright, David Anderson, Jarret Jack, Kleiza, ALabi and Dorsey.

The guys who were suspect: Bargnani, Jose, Barbosa, Weems, Dupree, Banks

Somewhere in the middle, DeRozan, Amir, Evans.

Not quite sure what you mean by "suspect". You may not know how Dupree usually plays but the others you categorized as suspect, I am sure you are familiar with their average game. At any time during the regular seasons, any or all of those players can under-achieve, the same as they might have done last night, but I am sure you are aware they can do better, thus, you would not be surprised when they overwhelm, as is inevitable at some point in the future.

And yet in NBA 2K11 Wright is a 64 overall and Kleiza is a 55. I still can't get over this.

Be fair now. You have to temper your optimism just a bit. We'll compromise and say 98-1. You figure Miami will eke out one against us in four tries.

The minutes he did get he looked like he's going to be a solid aggressive defender at least.

And Evans definitely does bring some good things it's just like it's been mentioned a 100 times before though his weaknesses are just as big. At least he gets fouled like a superstar though and I do love his get after it attitude.

How good is this year's 2K11. Is it worth buying over last year's live 10 and 2K10 or only marginal improvements.

TBH im tired of ppl saying bargnani this bargnani that. I would rather have a TEAM that shares the ball and everyone contributes to offense and defense instead of relying on bargnani to score in the post. As you saw last night, he was NOT needed. Dont get me wrong he is a good player but can easily be replaced with the amount of talent we currently have on the roster.

Can you update player ratings during the course of the season? i'm assuming they've rated most of the raptors players lower than expected.
