I can't believe Wilbon actually gets paid to write articles.

Just read Wilbon's column. Wow.

He should have just said "Gilbert Arenas needs a change of scenery."
That I would have agreed with.

Re: Official Not So Random Thoughts Thread Version 2.2
he makes no friggin sense
in one place he says he's not talented enough to be worth keeping around
then later he says he could still be a very good player
which is it?
as per the other thread - I think he (Gil) is depressed.
Once the season starts and he's focused on games, and has
more time to process the loss of his mother, he'll come around.
Nothing that hitting a few game winning shots wouldn't help either.

To all my Wire fans out there (please, no spoilers. Still in season one):
So I go to wikipedia to try and see the origin of Baltimore "Bullets." I get this little nugget: "The team took their name from the Bata Bullets athletic shoes, which were made in nearby Harford County."
So I scroll down and see a list of notable players who played for the Baltimore Bullets, and I see "Don Barksdale."
I click his name and see his full name: Donald Angelo "Don" Barksdale (March 31, 1923 – March 8, 1993) was a professional basketball player. He was a pioneer with a number of African-American firsts to his credit.
No way that's a coincidence. David Simon must have been a basketball fan.

but an armory or some such thing

If it's on Wikipedia, it can't possibly be wrong.

Not sure there anything worse than having school, then going to work, then leaving work, heading home, sleeping for about 4 hours and going to an internship at 4:30 in the morning.

Is the internship paid or unpaid?
I'd be careful using the word internship around these parts, you'll be setting yourself up for Tiny's yuppie wrath.

Unpaid. It's with 105.7 The Fan (Baltimore's #1 sports talk radio station).

Is that exactly how they announce it on the air?

If you don't have someone paying your bills while you do it, I imagine it's tough. I did an unpaid 3 monther, 40+ hours a week, at the U.S. embassy in Tokyo, but luckily I'm on scholarship.
Seems like you can't escape interning these days. Everyone does it, and it helps immensely getting a job upon graduation. I've heard it argued that the unpaid internship system oppresses the lower classes because it favors trust funders over people who have to pay their own bills.

Yes. I think they have me trained.

I can definitely see that argument. There aren't many paid internships out there. I'd love to get a little something out of this one but I can't complain - the experience is great.

I had an internship...on the cold, hard streets of DC.

Caps took out their frustrations tonight on the Devils. Hopefully they'll have that same intensity come next spring.
