Knicks ceiling is like 7th. Miami, Boston, Orlando, Chicago, Milwaukee and Atlanta atleast are above them. Washington and Charlotte have a chance to finish ahead of the Knicks too.

5up wrote:As a Knicks fan for the past 10 years, I think we've finally turned the corner and are legitimate contenders in the east. Let's look at the other teams in the east.

The Hawks are overrated and mediocre with no inside presence. They also have no more financial flexibility after giving JJ an Alan Houston like contract.

The Bulls just lost Boozer and Rose doesn't look like he'd going to be that much better. Other than Boozer their other additions won't make that big of a difference. Noah is also vastly overrated and now overpaid.

The Magic are definitely getting worse. Vince Carter isn't even a starter in this league anymore. Rashard Lewis is a terrible contract and had a terrible year, and isn't exactly young. Jameer Nelson isn't the same after the injury and I think Dwight has reached his peak in terms of offensive potential and contribution.

The Celtics are very deep. Deep of old people. Shaq and JO? Those two had negative value to their respective teams last year in both the regular season and post season. Perkins is out till february. And Ray Ray is a grandfather in this league. KG has lost his legs and can't keep up with the elite PFs of this league. Pierce is still decent but still not what he once was. Rondo is a very good player and will keep the Celtics in the middle of the east. I see the team finishing 5th or 6th.

The only real threat to the Knicks from the east are the heat. They've added great players but I still don't know how they will mesh together especially in the halfcourt. I'll give them the nod at the top, but I really do think the Knicks are the second best in the league.

This team is young and has so much potential. Gallinari and Randolph are loaded with potential. They are both extremely versatile and young and will finally have a chance on this team to break out. We also added one of the best bigs in the league in Amare. At the point we have one of the most underrated guards in Ray Felton.

And if we get Carmelo Anthony this year, I think we can rival the Heat for the best team in the league.
What are your thoughts?

The Knicks are in the conversation with Milwaukee, Washington, New Jersey (if they get Melo), Charlotte, Indiana for the last 3 playoff spots in the East. This has to be a troll post. I facepalmed just reading the thread title.

I like the Knicks. With "Magic" Randolph and a stud in Gallinari, they make up one of the best 1-2 punches in the league. Amare is just gravy.

WTF? Milwaukee is not in the same category as New York, Charlotte, NEW JERSEY?!, WASHINGTON?!, INDIANA?!

Christ man.

That's a pretty random ass category. And a terribly made one at that.

Sincerely doubting the veracity of the OP's Knicks fandom.

It's just too perfect.

You think the Knicks fanbase would settle for JUST LeBron? They one-upped those f*ckers down in South Beach and acquired Magic Randolph.

you've had 1 preseason game against an NBA team. And lost. To the TWolves.

Maybe it's a bit early to project them ahead of Boston and Orlando.

Even with Anthony, it still doesn't make sense.
With Anthony - 3-4 seed in the East
W/O Anthony - maybe playoffs

After watching their first two preaseason games they are much worse than I thought. You have Amare, Gallinari is a nice shooter but everybody else is pretty much average at best. The knick should be ecstatic if they can make the playoffs this season...

Bobcats Better?

Thats at least 6 teams better than you in the east

it may be my opinion but their only real threat is Amare.....you focus your defense to take him out of the game and you'll always have a good chance to win
