Rebounds per game adjustment?

Is there a formula to properly adjust rebounds/rebounds per game? For example, in 1963-64, Bill Russell was averaging 24.7RPG but the league average for team rebounds per game was 65.9. Obviously, in todays game he wouldn't be averaging 25 rebounds when the league average is only 41-42, so is there a way to find out what he'd be averaging? [ Not just Bill Russell, but the best rebounders of his era ]
