do you still think Cavs going 0-82, or whatever the stupid prediction was?

No, they go 2-80, with both wins coming against the Heat. :)

Don't think the OP had it in mind for this to become a Troll magnet thread, but the wording kinda will attract them. Lebron Bandwagon fans and some so called writers have over estimated Lebron's departure to the CAVs by predicting 12 type wins season. I remember the season they tanked to get Lebron and that team had no where near the talent that this team has. While the CAVs will not be title contenders, last nights game showed that the will play hard for CAVs head coach, Byron Scott, and will be competitive.

Exactly. People who have them worse than the Raptors are seriously delusional. They are a Pistons/Pacers/Wizards type of team now. Things can go great and they win 30 some games, things could go wrong and they win 15. Their ceiling is not 12 games. Anything can happen though.

We will be a 10-12 # Eastern Conf. team till the trade deadline....
then (hopefully) we will trade Jaminson and Mo... and the record will go downhill...

It was still just a preseason game though. Im not going to get too high or too low off of one preseason game.

I was most encouraged by Gibson's play. I think ultimately one of our PG's will have to be dealt - it's redundant having Boobie, Mo, and Sessions. But it's good to see Boobie look decent out there.

I would think that Mo has the most trade value. His contract isnt too bad and obviously Sessions isnt going anywhere since we just acquired him. I would like to see Gibson get heavy minutes, we havent really seen enough of him imo.

Is this Samuels guy any good? Apparently Cavs signed him on a 3 year deal (only the 1st year is guaranteed though)

He was highly touted coming out of highschool, has some talent but is a bit undersized for a PF/C. I think his ceiling is likely as a solid role player.

No one looked good tonight. That was an ugly game. At least JJ showed lots of energy.

Hickson is pretty good. He's not a franchise player by any stretch, but he should be handed the reigns. Jamison should be traded immediately. He doesn't fit on this team at all.

Allow me to backtrack a bit on my negative post from last night. Not everything was terrible.

Some more in depth thoughts:

Gibson as we all know by this point isnt a PG so he didnt set up his teammates that well last night. Aside from that he had a pretty good game offensively and really did well defensively on Wall.

Hollins had a ton of rebounds. He actually could of had way more too, but still double digits is impressive. He was also the other part of the equation in stopping Wall. He should be plenty serviceable in a backup C role this year.

(Note that it was when Gibson and Hollins were out that Wall finally started scoring)

Jamario looked decent again and I think its pretty clear he will be the starter at SF.

JJ got to the line a lot last night, but really has to work on his footwork. He was called for 3 or 4 travels and could have been called for 3 or 4 more. Someone needs to teach him to dribble before he starts moving. Still I love the fact that he is always looking to attack every time he gets the ball. We will need that badly.

Sessions had a lot of boards and ended up with 10 points, but man he couldnt hit a thing last night. It wasnt until the 4th quarter when we were down 20 that he finally started scoring. The crowd got pretty grumbly at him on more than one occasion. Also Wall scored most of his points with Sessions guarding him. Im hoping it was just an off game for him because I came away not very impressed.

Leon Powe is like a bull in a china shop. He fights for every rebound and loves to smash and bang into everyone. He gets tough man buckets, but is outside shot looked pretty solid as he hit a couple of midrange jumpers. Samardo Samuels looks like a similar player and could learn a lot form Leon.

Danny Green looked pretty terrible. He couldnt dribble, airballed a couple of shots, had another one blocked, had 3 fouls, and 3 turnovers all in 19 minutes. I think he has to fight to make the team.

Anthony Parker reminded me why I cant stand him. This guy is honestly terrible. He went 1-7 last night with 2 TO's. He got hurt midway through the game and didnt return. I hope its not a bad injury, but I was glad to not have to watch him the rest of the game.

Jawad didnt really stand out to me. He hit a couple of jumpers, but also missed a bunch. He was way more useful last year as he is a type of guy who needs someone else to create his own shot.
Eyenga had a completely sick dunk and a nice 3 in the second half but was completely off on some earlier jumpers, including one airball and another brick that was way off. His form looked good, but his shot looked inconsistant. That can be fixed though. Id rather have him running around out there then Parker or Green at this point. You could tell the crowd already is pulling for him.

AV was on the sidelines in street clothes so at least its good to know he's back. Him, Mo, and Jamison cant come back soon enought.

John Wall killed us, but we can live with that, but did you see that cat? a lot of teams will have to live with it.

I wouldnt really say he killed us. He didnt really do anything until late. He was quick but we always had help D ready to step in and alter his shots. Once Gibson and Hollins sat Wall started finding some driving lanes. He didnt look to have much of a shot so I think teams will be able to pack it in on him ala Rondo, until he can learn to consistantly knock down a jumper.

The Raptors won their first preseason game by over 50 points. I am not saying that they will be better, but I don't see how you can come to that conclusion based on that.

Exactly 1 game let alone a preseason one doesn't mean anything.

Sessions and Hickson. Two things that I like about our new team.
