You just love your big men don't you tsherkin?

Thoughts on the game:

- Obviously loved what I saw from Lopez, I really think that running the offense through him is going to be quite a treat to watch for us this season.

- You guys are complaining about T.Witt's erratic play, but Morrow was absolutely terrible. Not only was he chucking with no success, but his defense was absolutely terrible. Did you guys see him on that defensive play that basically sealed us with Marquis Daniels hitting that corner 3? The guy was second guessing whether or not he should contest the wide open 3. It's only pre-season, I really hope he is more controlled with regards to his shooting.

- Not worried about Favors, the guy can actually box out and crash the boards, something we severely lacked with Yi. With every game he will learn more and more, and I'm sure Sam Mitchell is working closely with him and Lopez.

- T.Witt has all the tools to be a great spark off the bench. Avery is just the thing that he needs to learn how to stay in control. I like Farmar and T.Witt off the bench because Farmar plays better off the ball, has decent distributing skills, and can guard 1's. This gives T.Witt the ability to be our very own mini Iggy off the bench, I love it.

All in all glad to be watching some Nets basketball again, and I'm liking Avery more and more. :D

Morrow is a flatout terrible defender, don't be surprised by it.

I said I didn't want us to make moves to strive for mediocrity, but I can't tell you what I would have given to sign Luke Ridnour over Farmar for the same money, which is what Minny gave him...

big fan of Luke, I agree 100%...I think LA made a nice upgrade over Farmar in Steve Blake an underrated true PG who can start if needed, and can really move the ball which the Lakers need more than anything...

Btw you guys remember that crazy dunk Favors couldn't finish? The guy just keeps teasing us with his potential.

He certainly showed some serious flashes last night, but overall he looked lost, nervous and terrible, let's be real here. Obviously he wasn't chosen 3rd overall because he was NBA ready though.

Curious to see how Brook reacts to double teams this year.

I have never been shy of telling people that post play is my favorite part of basketball and that I tire of watching guards over-dribble and do stupid things on the perimeter. No contest. There are precious few perimeter players I like compared to big men, and most of them had post game!

Compared to Turner, Wall, and Cousin's performances thus far in pre-season I'm not worried. Favors will learn, and will treat us to many highlight reels.

Travis Outlaw is going to make me rip my hair out this season.

Random, late comment, but Favours does look like he has a lot of promise. He certainly seems to know what to do with his athleticism and I haven't gotten the sense that he's shying away from his basic role at all. I'm feeling "Kenyon Martin with health" as his downside.
