He plays one preseason game and hes a star? The only competition I was looking forward to seeing him against in the World Championship was Team USA and he was 1-11 or something in that game and a complete non factor.

I think he can help us, and do a lot of things for us. But hes a role player. Everyone on this roster is a role player. There is no legit go-to player not even something that resembles a co-star. That's why I was so disappointed when MJ rejected our trade to move Calderon's salary.

Hopefully someone needs a point guard by Feb and we can dump him off for an expiring. And then if he can swallow his pride and find a taker for Bargnani will be pretty good shape cap wise. With some nice looking young players, and a couple first round picks.

Sounds like a plan. Seems like others are already planning a parade.

a parade for what? the raptors? nothing could be further from the truth.

for kleiza? all that is being said is that he's going to be a big producer for this team. any analyst worth his salt should be predicting the same. he's got a massive opportunity that should, barring some major misfortune, equate to substantial production.

mike james gets a starting gig on an incredibly depleted team - numbers. hell, even Jamario Moon broke 10 ppg. kleiza is going to get his. he goes and gets it. there will be no tentativeness. he will be rebounding and scoring the ball at a high rate when he's on the court.

all of our so-called role-players are going to be stepping up into some new roles. i'm confident that we're actually be going to see some efficient production from a lot of these guys.

none of that means that we're going to be any good. the eastern conference should be better than our team, on average. i do think that we'll be competitive with a lot of teams out there and will surprise more than a couple good ones. kleiza is going to be a big part of that competitive respectabiity. to think otherwise is more than a little shortsighted, even pigheaded, if you will.

They might be starters and impact players on our team. But on good teams, playoff teams, championship contender teams. They are role players at best.

Shame on anyone in this thread downplaying Kleiza.

I read the first response from "roclacfamillia" this guy always spits his opinion as if it's fact.... and half the time I wonder if this kid understands the game.

Straight up, if you couldn't see Linas Kleiza coming to Toronto as a positive, you might as well hang out on some other board. Maybe the Miami Fans will take you in?

I've noticed that in a few threads lately and I like Bargs but seriously I don't give a flyin **** who shakes out as the most promising player on this team. We just flat out need talent. If you only cheer for the raptors because you're an Andrea Bargnani fan give your head a shake.
