But lots of players aren't going to get you three's, and you can pick up three's in the tail end of the draft, anyways. And he does a lot more for his three cat's than anyone else. Again, I just think it's harder in h2h with Granger.

A lot of players aren't going to get you blocks and you can get those at the end of the draft. Once again though Howard doesn't have the dominance in 3 cats to the degree that so many believe. Blocks yes he's fantastic but still won't be the only guy getting 2.5 blocks a game. FG% yeah it's high but it isn't any more amazing than a guy picking up 6 assists or and it's not as good as 2 steals. He's very good there but he isn't dominating you FG% on his own. He'll make up for owning Stephen Jackson which is nice but not game breaking. His rebounding is great, it'll boost your total rebounding average over your squad by about 10%. Again that's a great boost but if I read again that he "wins you rebounding on his own" I'm going to cry a little.

Dwight wins you rebounding all on his own.

But in all seriousness, it just seems like we're arguing in circles. It's easier to build a h2h team around Dwight if you're going to punt FT's than it is to build around Granger. The numbers for fantasy don't lie. No one guy is going to win you a cat on his own, but it's the thought process of "gee, it's really easy to get a guy as good in these categories as Dwight and still win."

to each their own. I personally would take an all around player (not granger though, too injury prone for my blood) over dwight. In my opinion, it is much easier to get players who get a little bit of everything and stack them together. A stephen curry and an iguodala for example would go far, setting you up very well in multiple cats and having good chances of winning them. However if you go the Dwight Howard route, you have to make certain that beyond a reasonable doubt, that you must win those cats

In a regular league he's elite in 2 cats, good in another and below average to bad in 6 others. Picking him anywhere near the first round would be beyond stupid.

I imagine that would help, I don't play non-standard cats. :)

Why would you rule out Gasol 5th overall? He rebounds, blocks shots, assists, and scores more efficiently, than Dirk - and Dirk doesn't even get you many threes anymore - yet every year Dirk is rated significantly higher than Pau. Did I mention that in Yahoo! leagues Gasol is also two position eligible PF-C compared to Dirk's one PF?

But I regress, I have the 6th pick in my draft and would like to hear some differing opinions on who to pick. I think it's a lock that Durant, James, and Paul are gone by my pick so here's what my big list for position #6 is looking like:

Granger
Dirk
Gasol
Wade
Gasol
Kobe
Howard*

*Kind of a tier below the rest because of the categories he requires you to tank right from the get-go...

My only real holdup with who to pick is that I feel Kobe and Wade and then Dirk and Gasol are all super close in value so I'm not sure how to rank them.

League is 16 team H2H standard cats...

Responding original poster's question:

I'd go with this:

1st round : Howard
2nd round: J.Smith or Rondo
3rd round: Rondo or Kidd
4th round: Iggy

Responding to mikhailjordan:
Howard
Rondo or Iggy in 2nd round
Jefferson or Nene in 3rd (unless Iggy drops there)
Felton at 4th(need to solidy assists)
Millsap at 5th

I'd not worry about big man stats at 6th and 7th rounds and will look to acquire pg's or swingmen since there are lots of decent bigs available around/after 100's once you are committed to tanking ft%.

Howard
"I don't step aside, I step up." - Vic Mackey
"My name is my name" - Marlo Stanfield
"If you come at the king, you best not miss" - Omar Little

Pau should get consideration when compared to Dirk you are right there.
