Jazz games on Dish Network?!

Post#1 » by Phenom415 » Sun Oct 10, 2010 5:42 pm

I'm kind of surprised by the lack of coverage on this topic in the local media. At the end of September there were stories out there stating that if Fox became unavailable on Dish, we would lose our games. More recently, FSN Utah was not listed as one of the FSN affiliates that would be unavailable since Dish stopped airing FSN, FX, and NatGeo networks last week. So which is it? I (along with thousands more) already lost this weekend's Utah/Iowa State football game o this mess... are we to lose our Jazz games to? Anyone with any info?

Well, if it's anything like the versus fiasco I would make the switch to another provider if I were you.

I read online that FSN wanted a 50% bump in pay, so Dish dropped them while they negotiate.

I think you are taking your chances sticking with Dish as a Jazz fan.
"Thibs called back and wanted more picks," said Jorge Sedano. "And Pat Riley, literally, I was told, called him a mother-bleeper and hung up the phone."

I have been following the Dish Network, FSN thing and it does not look good. I'm pretty close to dropping dish and adding Direct TV. To be honest Dish has been pretty good to me in everything except sports; (Utah vs. Iowa State.

I think its time to move on from Dish to DirectTV.

Clearly, Comcast is the superior choice.

I just had a guy come by my house yesterday that was selling the comcast bundle with a ton of good channels, HD DVR, 20 Mbit internet, for 99 bucks for a year, 119 for the second year. You could even get the 99 for a year without a contract, but with a 50 dollar increase for the second year. Still, it's a much better deal than I am paying with directv and internet, with a better channel lineup and faster net. The package is 139 (promo price too) a month if you get it on the internet, so I'm gonna make the switch.

Hey I could always go back to directv in 2 years to get one of their nice signup bonuses...

My landlord pays for my super fast internet, my Satellite with all the premium channels, and my DVR. Not to mention gas and electric. And obviously that includes all the Jazz games.

You should hold out. I just got the same deal but $99 a month for 2 years.
