Why not start Aminu?

Dude seems to be much better than Gomes or Butler, and is younger and could develop with Griffin.

I don't see a problem with starting Aminu in the preseason, but I don't think he's proven himself enough to show that he's the starter. I can only go by the boxscore because I haven't seen a televised preseason game yet. Butler and Gomes are established veterans while Aminu is a rookie, I have to see more of what he can do before I will say that the should start for us.
I've been an LA Clipper fan since 1998 and that will never change. I hate our new logo and jerseys!

I really don't want Aminu to start. He is a rookie therefore defensively he is pretty much guaranteed to be poor. Also the big issue is if we started Aminu we would have absolutely horrible floor spacing. Gordon would be the only one able to hit the side of a barn from 3pt land.

Having said all that I just simply don't think he is ready. He seems pretty weak and unsure of himself. I reckon he is going to need quite a while to mature and get used to the game. I doubt he actually receives any minutes early on in the season.

He's not starting because he sucks and the Clippers realize they should have drafted Paul George

Pretty sure Paul George has looked awful as well. Based of all mock drafts and his sick measurements Aminu was always going to be our pick.

Aminu is not ready yet. Gomes fits the glue guy role that we have needed at the 3 spot. Aminu is showing progress, but will have to earn playing time let alone the starting role. He has the right attitude and work ethic, and he's going to have to put those 2 things to use to prove whether he deserves playing time or a key role in the rotation.

As far as the Aminu vs George comparison goes...I was intrigued by George going into the draft as well, but if people are willing to give him time to adjust to the NBA game, Aminu should be given the same courtesy.

Aminu is currently averaging: 10.3ppg, 4rpg, 1apg, 0.67spg in 24 mpg on 37% FG%, 77.8% FT% & 33.3% from 3.

George is currently averaging: 2.33ppg, 3rpg, 0.5apg, 1spg in 22mpg on 14.3% FG% & 14.3% from 3.

Aminu is not ready. Let him rule the bench mob and give that starting job to Gomes.

Troll much?

Call me optimistic, but I'm sure Aminu will be fine in a year or two. As well, I find him to be the ideal compliment to the team. He was a good defender in college, can rebound the ball extremely well, and he's fast and strong. I'd say that compliments Gordon and Griffin extremely well.

We should start Aminu so he and Gordon's lack of emotional expression can balance out Blake's overt emotions on the court.

Man Gordon and Aminu's stone faces really bugs me actually. Dont know If Ive ever seen Gordon smile on court. Great thing about the Gstate team with Baron was that they played with emotion. Guys like Barnes, Baron and Jackson were intense players like Griffin and played with emotion. In turn that used to fire up the other guys and just make the games more fun to watch.

Plenty positives to being a bit more relaxed and keeping your emotions in check though I suppose. Just not the way I play.
