Impressed with the Raptor moderators

Post#1 » by Inception » Tue Oct 12, 2010 2:53 pm

I'm not the type of guy that'll criticize you when I feel like it but refrain from saying anything positive when you're doing a good job. I've been very impressed with the work the Raptors mods have been doing the last month or so. The boards have been much more readable and they've been doing an equally good job getting rid of the junk and/or duplicate threads.

Good work guys

Werent you the guy who freaked over some posts being moved?

But I agree, almost all the mods are cool.

Moderating is a thankless job according to all the mods on this site, so stop making these kinds of posts.

So that's what happens to brown nosers... thus none of the Raptor mods will receive any praise from me.

This board is a PBP magnet...Inception was working on at least his eighth account, and if he's a continuation of the guy we suspect him to be, he's well over 50 and likely closing in on 100.

Inception here,

First off I had no intention of ever browsing these forums again after I was falsely banned for being a returning user with no further justification or anything. I made the mistake yesterday of checking these particular boards to see if any moderators responded to my ironic thread, the irony being that I was banned permanently for something I didn't do on the same day that I complimented the moderators work. After reading Schaud's enlightening response I just had to say something and I figured since I've already been penalized for something I didn't do, I might as well go ahead and do it now since I can still access the forums from my phone (kinda like double jeopardy).

You can go ahead and ban this IP too, I really don't give a crap. All I know is that you're wrong and the fact that you can just decide something like that on a hunch speaks volumes about the way this place is managed. Chances are someone will delete this post and lock the thread so that no further discussion can occur but that doesn't change anything. I have ZERO interest in ever participating in this community again and there's no doubt in my mind that in a few years this place will be irrelevant at the rate things are going. Anyway, it's not my problem anymore, I thought it'd be cool to start posting on RealGM after lurking for a while and in retrospect the experience completely turned me off from this place.

Good luck with your site

Then explain why your old handle. " Inception" is an exact match to the previously banned users we are talking about ?

The victim card is getting old.

How is it an exact match? Can you please provide examples? Look man, I know for a fact that I'm not a returning user but I'd love to see how that conclusion was drawn. I don't know what the logic was cause no explanation was given. And for the moderator in question to suggest that I've returned several times, maybe even up to 30, is pretty hilarious from my perspective. Makes me wonder how many people have been banned for no real good reason?

All I did was make a sarcastic comment in a game thread and next thing I knew I was banned. I have no idea why or how nor do I really understand what you mean by "your handle was an exact match to previous users". On what basis? And what users? You must be very confident if you use the term "exact match".

I'm not playing the victim card, I'm pointing out the fact that the moderators banned me under false pretenses. The fact that he suggested that I've returned 30+ times should serve as a wake up call to the administrators here. That's a bold and incorrect statement and says a lot about how this place is managed.

Actually sorry, not 30 but 50 or closer to a 100. That's truly incredible.

He pretty much admitted to banning 100's of users permanently because he and his colleagues believed they were previously returning members. Now I don't know the situation surrounding each of those cases but based on my personal experience and the fact that I was falsely accused, that number (and the notion that one person would put so much time and effort towards posting on this site) is crazy. It's honestly crazy.

It's an exact match because we have IP tools here. We click.. check IP and it shows us who has posted under this IP.

There is irrefutable evidence that this IP ( currently the one you are posting under) The Inception IP and 4 other banned posters who chronologically created accounts and were banned in order under the same IP.

What Schad said doesn't really matter to me, I don't have a history with the poster in question. But his reference is accurate as we have had the same poster, chronically coming back under different aliases.

However, regardless of that history. Your current user name, Inception and other banned posters are all posting from the same IP. I can see it with my own eyes. There is no guessing.

Oh yeah? Can you please share that IP address? I post from my condo (which is actually a relatively new internet connection since I moved there in June) and from my iPhone. The site is blocked at my work so I can't access it there. Anyone can say "all your IP's matched" but that's bs because when I was banned I was posting from my condo and I've never logged in from a public place.

Either your tools are messed up or you're making things up. If someone registers here multiple times and gets banned "chronologically", as you're suggesting, why would you continue to ban the username and not the IP? It doesn't add up
