Dalembert out 4-6 weeks

Post#1 » by Wolfay » Wed Oct 13, 2010 3:45 am

Yes, that's right folks. A guy who hasn't missed a game in four seasons gets injured when he becomes a King. Figures.

The Sacramento Kings today announced that an MRI taken on Kings center Samuel Dalembert confirmed the initial diagnosis of a left adductor strain.

The injury may sideline Dalembert the next four to six weeks.

This just might be a blessing in disguise folks!! Remember when Martin was injured last season? It gave Tyreke a chance to shine. Let's hope for the same in Cousins. :peace:

This may be a blessing under disguise.

This probably give Cousins the starting C position now. And extra minutes for Whiteside too.

I agree it might be a blessing in disguise, but still, it would be nice for Cousins to see him out on the floor to see how a vet plays.

What a low blow. I guess it will be DC's time to shine sooner than expected. I don't mind, I just hope he will be able to handle 30+ min. consistently, it's a great test for him though for sure. I hope Whiteside will be able to get some burn as well off the bench for us to block some shots.

Yeah, makes me hope Hassan is at least close to ready to come back, but I know his is a tendon and that can be a tricky one.

I don't remember them mentioning anything on the radio, but I was out for like 30 minutes, so maybe they said something then.

I would have liked to see Dally out there when the Kings play the Lakers.

That link is no good without signing up for the site.

Personally I think that there is a distinct possibility that the injury is being somewhat exaggerated to push DMC into getting his game legs completely under him by season start. I would actually have no problem with the rotation as is if Jackson plays even CLOSe to how he did last night as a b/u. I am not usually that easily impressed, but the guy is a LOAD and he is mobile enough to move out to the perimeter to defend smaller shooting PF's. i did not know that he had that kind of game, I thought that he was just pretty much a beef guy.

Otherwise, I think that the best way to win ROY is to be on the floor as a key component of your team and it's improvement.

So does that mean we should trade Dalambert to make sure he doesn't bring down the team when he comes back?

Kings F Hassan Whiteside was held out of Tuesday's preseason game against the Warriors with a left patellar tendon strain. He is still listed as day to day, but has yet to play in the preseason.
(Updated 10/13/2010).

anyone else thinking that the kings training staff needs to be re-evaluated drastically

every time I think things are going well, there's a knee or a whatever that takes out one of the players for some significant amount of time

I don't know much about injuries/training staff, but seriously, if you don't believe in curses, then it's getting harder to believe these are just coincidences.

Yeah maybe we should look to steal away the suns training staff. They seem to do very well. Maybe we off them a bit more cash to get them to come here but then we make more money because our guys stay healthy.

I wish we had the Suns staff. They are the best in the league.

"Injured Kings center Samuel Dalembert has accepted his streak of consecutive games played will end at 354 when the Kings open the regular season at Minnesota on Wednesday.

What the veteran hopes, however, is that it's just a one-game absence.

Dalembert's streak is the third-longest active streak in the NBA. After a post-practice workout, Dalembert said how he felt after a treadmill workout Sunday night would go a long way in determining how long he'll be out.

"That's the real test," Dalembert said. "And then (today) if I feel good I'll try to do more. And then hopefully I'll be out there in New Jersey."

Wow he thinks he can be back by friday? Even though giving DMC lots of playing time is what he needs there is no doubt that dally makes us better. Then again this probably puts whitesides out of the rotation and he looked pretty good against utah on both ends.
