Pacers v Wolves

Post#1 » by glasket » Wed Oct 13, 2010 10:10 pm

Game thread - impressions here.
I want to see good production out of Psycho or McBob (if he plays).
I'd also like Magnum to get more minutes than he has so far and Lance to show us some improved D.

Danny looked great. Hungry Hibbert 7 blocks is like wow.
Paul George looked better
Would have like Collison to have more assists

I have to agree with this point. Indy been starving for good PG for years, Collison better play like he's that guy.

About the passing game tonight:

As a team, we did okay...20 assists, but 21 turnovers. Darren Collison wasn't awful with the dimes, but bad with taking care of the ball, at 3 and 4 on dimes and coughs respectively. Granger, Hibbert, and Price tied for assist leader at 4 apiece, which is really nice seeing that out of our backup PG and our two main offensive threats. McBob had 5 TO's.

Nice to at least see a win. But, Minn is possibly the worst team in the NBA and they played the night before. I saw it at the Orlando game and it was even more appartent last night. The bench looks weak. Particularly as mentioned by O'Brien the guys playing the 4 and 5 positions.

I'm inclined to think Hansbrough will get it eventually. He better because there may not be anyone else there. Foster has been ineffective the entire preseason. Given his age and history of injury I wonder if this is the end of the line. And, if he can't be counted on to be a reliable backup center we've got a problem.

Also does anyone know what's up with Brandon Rush? He is getting almost no run.

On a more positive note did anyone else notice the stat lines of Paul George and Wesley Johnson?

Brandon Rush is in the doghouse coz he is suspended the first 5 games of the season and our coach is taking a more serious look at the starting rotations.
Plus Obie also said that he is not sure where Rush fits in once the 5 games suspension is over. It depends on how the others play at the 2 spots

George looked good. You could see why Dunleavy is saying he can be special. he's ahead of Wesley Johnson at this stage of their careers.

Stevenson showed potential. Rolle looked like a 51st pick. he's thin as a rail. coach didn't play Stevenson or Rolle until garbage time. while I wish he'd given us a longer look; I suppose I shouldn't have skipped last week's game. he's obviously trying to get guys used to being on the floor with the guys they'll be playing with in a regular season rotation.

we really fell behind when Foster was in during the first half. as a result they sat him in the second. we just we not effective with Jeff and JMac were on the floor together.

S Jones was S Jones and Hansbrough wasn't even that. he just didn't show the aggression he showed last year. he could be gun shy coming off the injury.

neither Rush nor D Jones got a sniff. expect neither to be active in the early season.

I think we'll be able to get around the lack of depth at 4 by playing small ball. however, I don't see the backup 5 on the roster. we need a serviceable, veteran backup center. off to the trade board.

from what ive seen so far in preseason, Pacers interior defense has major issues. hopefully we at least get to a mediocre level

Its preseason... We will be ok! Hibbert is going to have a breakout year and once Tyler is healthy we will be just fine
