We know he's capable. Probably next season, too, for different reasons.

Players objecting to calls both erroneous and correct is of no concern to me. I relish the emotional exhibit for what it is. It's the double-standards that worry me. Still, if Stern doesn't want things getting out of hand then he should give the referees greater arbitrary power when it comes to technical fouls and perceived disrespect and, in the event it happens, endorse any referee's ejection of a "star" in the aftermath. Perhaps even give the referee concerned a voice in the media, with accounts of exactly what was said, to justify the action. An instruction to implement a complete crack down on the slightest utterance or element of disagreement is oppressive. Fascist, to some degree. Given his heritage one would think the commissioner wary of encroaching on these philosophical margins.

Let's not get too out-of-hand here. Philosophical margins, my friend? I'm not crazy about it either, but it's not THAT alarming.

It will give the Refs a lot of power that they don't need. If anything, it makes the job of fixing a game much easier for them to do. DWade and LBJ will get flop call after flop call and the team they are playing won't be able to complain about it.
