Dramatic much?

He didn't win in the World Series last year

Who pitched better for us in the World Series? 7 IP, 2 ER and 6 2/3 IP, 3 ER

he won in the first round vs the Twins but it wasn't a dominant performance

Really? 6.2 IP, 1 ER, 8 K's

and he was horrible in this game vs the Rangers.

I noticed you left out last year's ALCS. Let me remind you. Game 1- 8 IP, 4 hits, 1 ER, 7 K's. & on 3 days rest in game 4- 8 IP, 5 hits, 1 ER & 5 K's. ALCS MVP.

I like CC for the way he eats up innings in the regular season

So you're saying he is just an innings eater? Really?

but his post season performances just are not that good.

Last season he was amazing & was easily our best pitcher (and the best pitcher in the postseason besides Lee). So, if he isn't an ace then I guess you don't need an ace since we won the World Series last year without one

We definitely need Lee as our ace next year. No doubt about it. Pay him whatever he wants; just get him in pinstripes.

We need Lee but it isn't because CC is not an "ace". We need Lee because Pettitte is probably retiring & AJ Burnett has been awful.

The Yankees have very little interest in crawford. the Sox & the Angels will have a bidding war for him. If the Yankees are in the market for a bat then they're going to go after Dunn to be their DH.

side note- you only have 8 people in that lineup, would Posada be the DH? Do you really think Montero will be in the majors next season? The most I see from Montero next year is a September call up.

If you are going to go through each sentence I write, at least get your stats correct. You lose credibility when you post incorrect numbers.

Here these are his real stats.

His career post season ERA is 4.79. Granted this is bloated due to his Milwaukee numbers.
His World Series ERA is 3.29, which is good but not great.
His ALCS ERA is 5.64. Not exactly ace type stuff there.
His career record in the post season is 6-4. 1 of those losses was with the Brewers, so we can say 6-3 with the Yankees. In the ALDS he is 4-0, and in the ALCS he is 2-2 (he is 0-1 in the WS).

He is a very good pitcher, but he is not lights out in the way Halladay, or Lee is. I like Sabathia a lot. There have been several times where we needed him to match another team's ace, and he has not come through. Do I have to remind you about the game against Tampa and David Price when he gave up 7 runs in 5.1 innings, in what was essentially the game for home field advantage (and also his Cy Young chances)?

I was talking about this year's game against the Twins. Or were you trying to conveniently leave that out?

Wow. 6-3 with the Yankees? Seriously? he is 4-1 with the Yankees in the postseason. Did you forget that he played with the Indians? You tell me to get my stats right (which I did) yet you can't even get your stats correct! His postseason era is bloated due to his 10.45 ERA against the Red Sox in 07 ALCS (which also accounts for his bloated ALCS ERA.) & the 12.27 ERA against the Phillies in 08 NLDS.

You are correct. I forgot about Indians years. But when I originally was speaking about the Twins, I was speaking about this year. You posted his numbers vs them last year, when he went 6.1 innings with 1 run. This year he went 6 innings and gave up 4 runs (3 ER).

Yeah, I realize that now my bad. I'm just saying CC was great for us last postseason. This year he hasn't been but I'm not going to say "I'm not sure if CC is a #1" because of 1 awful game & 1 "meh" game.

Cliff Lee still has never even had a "meh" game let alone a blowup game like CC had last night. If we have a chance to get a better ace, then by all means we should do it.

Yea, tonight pretty much seals the deal if you ask me.

Cliff Lee will write a number on a piece of paper and slide it across the table to Cashman, and Cashman will look at it, and will procede to take out the check book, and then ask "who do you want me to make this out to?"
