Some tidbits on the value of Rasmus:

Fangraphs ranks him the 14th highest trade value in the major leagues. For comparison, Romero is the only Jay in the top 50, at #48.

An objective analysis of equal trade value from http://pinetarandpocketprotectors.wordp ... ade-value/

"Here are some trade proposals that I think would fit the bill:
To the Yankees for: Brett Gardner, Manny Banuelos
To the Braves for: Craig Kimbrel, Arodys Vizcaino, Omar Infante (one year until free agency)
To the Blue Jays for: Shaun Marcum, Zach Stewart
To the Marlins for: Mike Stanton straight up"

Obviously, he thinks Rasmus for Marcum, Stewart is reasonable too, so that is about the price

I would hate to give up our 4 main pitchers. but for a playr like Colby Rasmus. you would have to do it.

How about this,
TOR
Bautista
Marcum
Thames
B+ prospect

STL
Rasmus
David Freese
C prospect

Gives STL a soild offensive boost now and a solid #3 starter that can win 15 games for them. Gives the jays 2 solid young controllable players. Not sure if STL goes for it may have to sweeten the deal a little for STL

Return to Toronto Blue Jays
