Hasn't he had problems with this same injury in the past? If it keeps reoccurring...tis no good.

I like Nichols the best out of all of them. He has the most length and best shot and made some nice plays within the offense.

Gaines has only played half a season in the NBA. He hasn't been around long enough to even judge ceilings and whatnot.
My prediction is that he's going to end up being a better PG than Ronnie, which isn't saying much, but still-- it's unfortunate we have to let him go.
Jazz on your face.

Re: DWill out with strained calf
Did y'all see Gaines run that 3-on-1 break at the end of the Suns game (@SLC)? He passed it off to Ronnie P.'s feet when he was already under the basket. When he did that I said to mayself, CUT!!!
That alone shows that he has underaverage PG skills, not unlike Ronnie P. However, the fact that he is slower, less athletic, much worse defender and HORRIBLE FT shooter makes picking him over Price the worse possible idea.
With Watson, Price becomes our 3rd guard (1 and 2) to spark us off the bench. His defense and energy alone give us a huge boost in that 3rd guard role (when he isn't counted upon to regularly run our offense).
So, to Sundiata Gaines: Thanks for completing Ronnie's assist (;)) to beat LeBronze, but... GTFO!!!!

Re: DWill out with strained calf
Yeah, Gaines cannot run the fast break at all, and he isn't the finisher that Ronnie P is. I do think he does most other things better however.
The problem for those two is neither of them will do it as well as Watson does so they are going to be fighting for garbage minutes.
The case for Ronnie is that he has the ability to play the 2 guard for defensive purposes which helps, and he tends to play well against the Lakers.
I also think the Jazz are less worried about potential ball handlers this year with AK, CJ and Hayward all capable of bringing the ball up the floor.
