Season Predictions!!!

Post#1 » by dream_catcher_9 » Mon Oct 18, 2010 6:18 am

Regular Season is right around the corner(10 days away) so lets hear your predictions. Record and whatever else you feel like predicting....

59-23, Northwest Champions! and the #1 seed in the playoffs. Yeah that's pretty bold but after what happened last year with the team exceeding EVERYONE'S expectations I think they will do it again. I think we make the NBA Western Conference Finals and lose to the Lakers in 7 games.

Durant will win NBA MVP and be the fan favorite. Westbrook will take that 3rd year leap and be considered a unanimous top 5 PG.

We once again have little injuries besides the occasional day to day scrapes of our role players.

Yes I am predicting bold things, but this is no ordinary organization with ordinary players.

52-30 3rd seed and 2nd in the division behind Portland..

Durant will win the MVP while leading the league in scoring quite easily. I guess I agree with you on him becoming the fan favorite, but I'm pretty sure he already is tbh just not on a global scale yet.

We will get the 3rd seed in the playoffs and matchup with the jazz. I think we advance on and lose to the Lakers in the 2nd round in game 7. I don't think we will see Westbrook improve too much from last year outside of his FG% going up and I think Green will decline. Harden and Ibaka should step up however..hopefully we dump Green for a PF @ some point.

We'll make it to the NBA finals where we lose to the experienced Boston Celtics.

Record: 53-29

I would be happy with a 4th seed in the West (behind Lakers, Dallas and Denver) and take it from there step by step.
I dont want to expect too much of this team, but continual improvement. There might be some injuries as well, so the circumstances might change a little to last year. Actually, they will change for sure, mostly because they are no underdogs anymore. We'll see how they'll handle it.
Im expecting our 3pt % to go up and our generall ball movement to improve.
Westbrook should have a very strong year and Harden will have a chance to win the 6th Man award if he stays mostly on the bench.
Hopefully Cole will catch up quick and Ibaka doesn't let those down who expect him to have a 9 points 9 rebounds 2 blocks-type of season.
I also expect Durant to improve on his FG and 3pt %s to 50 and 40.
And for last, I expect JGreen to take less 3 pointers and drive more strong.

PS: I had a dream last night where Harden scored 40 points, scoring 38 form 40 from the free throw line going along with 1 single FG :) Im expecting similar numbers from him this year :) ...just kidding, but he shouls average like 5-6 FTs a game.

I'll say 50-32, 5th seed in the West, as the roster currently stands. Could gain a few games if a deadline trade is made for a real PF.

I say 53 wins and 4th seed.

slick, do you see a realistic chance of a trade for us? if so, who would you like to go after?

I think Green could very likely be traded if the Thunder decide by mid-season that they aren't going to re-sign him to play PF full time. I don't know who they would go after. Maybe one of the Kings surplus bigs?

So who do the Kings have? I like Landry but he is not a real PF either.
Jason Thompson would be cool, but they wont trade him, because that would leave only Cousins as a strong big man (Dalambert is injured and will probably always remain injury prone).
So who else do they have? If we trade JeffGreen, than I wish to get back a rebounding monster instead, someone who can grab at least 10 boards a game.

Landry would be the perfect off the bench compliment to Ibaka he thrived in that sixth man role in Houston and was near top in the league in 4th quarter scoring which we could use

Anyways 54 wins and 3rd seed is my prediction what happens in the playoffs is pure guesswork at this point

55-27 record, fourth seed.

Durant wins MVP
Jeff Green wins 6th man of the year.

Thunder gets bounced in the second round.

Cole Aldrich will have the 2nd best season of all the rookie bigs this year. And will make the All Rookie team.

I'm not too concerned about the record ~ high 40's to low 50's.

The Thunder will have homecourt advantage in the playoffs. Lose in the conference finals (7 games).

Ibaka and Harden will play on the Sophmore Team.

Aldrich will barely make the Rookie Team.

The Rookies will dominate the Sophmores.

Daequan Cook will be invited back to the 3pt shoot out. He will lose.

Durant will be the H.O.R.S.E. Champion again.

Westbrook's name will be mentioned during All-Star selections, but he'll likely get snubbed.

KD will be an All-Star + MVP + All-NBA 1st team + Scoring Champion.

Krstic will lose his starting gig. Green will raise his PPG by getting to the free-throw line more often.

Thabo & Westbrook will both make the All-Defensive Team. Westbrook will be on the All-NBA 3rd team.

Brooks will not win coach of the year, but he will also not get fired.

The Thunder have got to one of the more overrated teams in recent memory.

They took a wounded champion to 6 games and all of a sudden people think they are legit contenders?

Hahahahahahahahahahaha

They will win 52 games get the #6 seed and lose in the 1st round in 6.

You've had all off season to come up with something good to troll and that's it? That's the best you got? I'm a little offended really that your troll was so bad.

Your lines are tired and old just like the Lakers legs will be come playoff time.

The champs were not wounded. We played excellent defense on Kobe and forced him into a below average series. dolt

The Lakers best player had a broken finger and their 3rd best player had a torn meniscus

They were wounded. Not to mention LA's bench is much better than last year.

Did OKC improve in the offseason? No they didn't. Cook and Peterson suck and Aldrich is a backup center in this league.

The Thunder have a lot of room for organic improvement. They played the Lakers very tough.

So what if the Lakers were wounded. They were wounded because their best player is getting older and isn't healing like he used to, and their starting center is injury prone. LAL's bench is *much* better? Hmm... :)

How about Marresse Speights? I don't think sixers won't give him up, but hell its worth a try.

@Lakersfan

Just keep on talking. You got alot of teams to face in the east and west. If Kobe is not healthy during the playoffs then i can't see you guys win. Same with Andre B if hes not healthy ehiter then you guys won't take it all. And your bench is better than ours!? Smh let the hates keep on coming. By the next two years or so Lakers won't make it to the finals again.. Kobe is getting old and most of your players is injured prone. Good luck this season.

Well I called the 55-27 record along with the 4th seed, the rest was way off. However Jeff Green is now the 6th man in Boston :D

I hope I am wrong about getting bounced in the second round.

Return to Oklahoma City Thunder
