I'm pissed because I did the same last year, I had my reasons for trading oveckhin, and YOU, not anyone else, had the biggest problem with it. So to make the league not a mess, I just said, okay **** it and canceled the deal. Bring it to this year, we try to veto this one, and YOU say too bad.

It's not fair. I canceled all my trades I've had offered to me, and proposed to others. because whose to say you won't just veto them?

I'll still put my line-up out there every night, but this is bull.

Ditto to these sentiments. The fact that you had the biggest problem with the trade last year but didn't care about people having any problems with it this year because it was you landing Ovechkin is a problem. There shouldn't be any trade vetoing whatsoever; you should just let managers live with the trades they make. But instead you veto trades you don't like unless you're on the beneficial end.

With regards to last year's trade with Ove for Zets, even after all this time I still haven't been given any reason as to why that trade is seen as 'more fair' than the one I made this year other than Zetterberg is a big name player.

Stat wise last year the trade broke down like this:

Ovechkin 109pts in 72 games vs Zetterberg 74pts in 70 games
Staal 49pts in 82 games vs Briere 53pts in 75 games
---------- Ryder 33pts in 82 games

So Briere had 4 more pts in 7 less games vs Staal so that's pretty much a wash. Ryder was a meaningless addon so it was pretty much a Ove for Zets deal where Ove finished 39 pts higher yet people think THAT was more fair??

The way I viewed the trade this year is that Sully can probably hit at least 50pts and Hemsky perhaps 70pts at least. 120pts between them and I believe Ove will get around the same amount of pts. Plus throwing in Hiller a decent goalie. Seems more fair to me.

But regardless of all that and even though I think the trade was fair and so did the manager I traded with, in the interest of league happiness, what do you guys wish to do now? Would you allow rework of the deal between me and Hockeyville? Or do you just want to cancel it?

You're just not getting it at all.

I made a trade, you said it was unfair. You didn't listen to my points so I canceled the trade to keep the peace.

You made a trade. More than one person said it was unfair. You didn't listen and went through with the trade.

If we get a vote I say cancel the trade.

Yeah, this really does look like a "it's involving me so it'll go the way I say" type thing.

Okay, now I understand why there have been like 30 posts on this in the past few days. I completely agree with this part. Why is it that we have people who have nothing to do with a trade saying the people making the trade can't make it? If someone wants to make a trade, let them. If it doesn't work out, that's their fault.

Isn't the whole point of fantasy sports to basically GM a team? Well I don't know of any GMs in any sport making a trade only to have other GMs who aren't involved in the trade telling them they can't make it because they don't think it's fair.

I agree with that, vetoing trades is pretty ridiculous. But CC brings up a valid point from last year when you weren't around. He was apart of a deal that many considered unfair and, based on pressure mainly from GQ, canceled the deal. Now there's the majority of people in the league stating their opinion of this trade and GQ, one of those involved, is going to let it continue.

It's not about how one trade stacks up with the other, it's about how the commissioner has been handling these two situations.

Yeah, I understand that. And if that did happen last year and so many are upset with the trade, then it shouldn't happen just based on how GQ was last year with the trade.

Sorry but that's just not correct. There's 16 managers in the league and if you take out myself and my trading partner Hockeyville that leaves 14 to voice their disapproval. So far that I've counted, only 3 managers have actively called for the cancellation of the trade. Two others are neutral to the deal and they've stated that it doesn't matter to them if the deal goes through or gets cancelled. So 3 managers out of 14 really want the trade cancelled. That's hardly the majority of the league wouldn't you agree?

Despite that and even if both myself and Hockeyville are fine with the trade (heck he might've been fighting for it harder than I was), because I don't want people to be upset over a single trade and I want to be fair, I am offering to cancel and reverse the trade if people still really want that done. I guess after more thinking I've come to the conclusion that its better to just let it go than cause league unhappiness over one trade.

Well, I must say I suck badly at fantasy hockey.

Suddenly I have 3 backup goaltenders that are top rated fantasy goaltenders. Anyone interested?
