seriously? I don't think so. Duhon is an awful defender and playmaker, but his offensive game is way of ahead of Felton's, which makes them almost identical players talentwise. I watched the Knicks game yesterday, and yeah, I'm not surprised to be honest. That was a typical Raymond Felton performance. Knicks fans should get used it, because they are going to see A LOT of these games.

Duhon?

Duhon was good at really one thing. Not turning the ball over. But that's more to do with him not taking risks, really not trying to do too much with the ball and basically running the pick and roll with David Lee to death.

I've never really been hot on Felton but I think you may be letting your dislike for Felton carry you away a little. Trust me, Duhon's offensive game isn't ahead of Felton's, much less way ahead. Duhon also had a propensity of getting injured, disappearing when you need him the most and not being able to handle pressure.

I will so that Felton's ball handling skills are a big scary. Not sure if you noticed, but there was one part in the training camp special where they were running dribbling drills and Felton was dribbling the ball like he was in the advanced stages of arthritis. :D

That really is crazy talk. I don't think Duhon is the worst PG in the NBA, but he's plenty bad.

He actually wasn't that good. He shot really poorly for most of the game (I think he was 1-5 to start out) then had a little purple patch which evened his fga Vs fgm out. One of his shots was actually an alley alley oop attempt to Amare who was floored off the screen but the alley actually went in (swish) with no one touching it!! Felts passing and handle is still very suspect. Going to help him out a lot having a monster like Amare, who is looking AWESOME, to pass the ball to though.

That Douglas kid is super impressive though. Awesome on D, great stoke, makes nice passes (puts the ball in the correct position).

There was one funny play at the half. Felts got a defensive rebound, nearly lost the ball, then nearly discontinued the dribble, then nearly travelled but gathered and threaded a 1/2 court bounce pass to Amare for the score!!!

It was your typical out of control Felts play!!

Its only pre season but I think we definately did the right thing with Felts. He still looks to be a mediocre point guard at most. Not worth investing big dollars in.

Sorry - I should have also added that there were some nice things that Felts did. He played some pesky "up in your grill" D and forced some good turn overs and he did hit some nice baseline J's when he was "on".

He also made a really nice drive and layup to close out the 1st half.

His passing still bothers me though. Just never seems to pass the ball the right play - eg: passes to or behind his team mate rather than in front of him with a leading pass to the hoop etc. He did it with that Mozgov kid a couple of times. Luckily for Felts though Amare has outstanding hands and can catch wayward passes. There was several times Felts passes to Amare's knees etc but Amare made the most of it.

Very interesting analysis on ESPN. It is on an Insider article so those never "paste" right for me. But the gist of it is based on what Scouts out there say and the article was saying that Felton just makes horrible decisions and that is his downfall. From the years I watched him, he made several good decisions, but at crunch time, the majority always turned out bad for us.

I for one will not hold anything against him. I hope he does well, except when he plays Charlotte.

Just a bit offtopic

I am playing NBA 2k11 my player and I got drafted into Knicks. Anyway. I am so pissed of this (Please Use More Appropriate Word) Felton in that game that I demanded trade. Awful decisions. When I am free to shoot, then he holds the ball. When I run through traffic to the next position, he passes ball to me, into traffic for shooting.

I hope he is not that awful in real life.

I think you're scouting report on Felton was dead wrong. Felton has pushed the ball up the court and found open teammates at all times. He's hit timely shots and made timely defensive plays.Yes there are times where he fumbles the ball when trying to feed amare but other than that the guy has been more than solid for us. SO FAR He's been more than solid for us.

I see you're giving props to Toney Douglas there but that's due to you not watching him play enough. If you did you would conclude that Toney is not a good passer. I cringe everytime he tries to setup plays in the half court. The guy is a scoring guard, that's it..

People here tend to hate on Felts but I love the guy. Have his 'Cats jersey and probably going to order a Knicks one this year. And you're right, Douglas isn't like his Florida State counterpart Charlie Ward. He's a scorer, not a distributor. Felts distributes the ball well and plays good defense. I think he'll continue to thrive in that system and I hope he does.

I am rooting for Felton in NY. While I did not like him when he went to UNC, he won me over with his work he did here. Always worked hard, never really complained, won us many games.

Andre Miller just tried to post him up and Felts would have nothing of it. He's such a strong little dude and a fierce competitor.

He has also done well to get to the ring a couple of times. but then blows the layup. Never seen that before :D

Overall solid play though.

He looks more like the baller at UNC with the Knicks. Must be the number change.
Humble yourself.

Felts is a crap jump shooter. That probably will never ever change. He chicken wings and his follow through is short and jerky at best, but I tell you what, his pace change up when he drives now is top shelf.

It took him 5 years to work it out, and thank God we got to experience it for his last year when he was here, but it is by FAR the greatest improvement to his pro game.

He finally really understands his strength and ability to change pace when he drives. Makes him a totally different player to the one we had for the first 4 years.

Probably more with D'Antoni not being the Point Guard Nazi.

Guys, that spin move he made on the baseline gave me goose bumps. The guy is definitely a New York type point guard. It's so refreshing to have a threat at the point guard position after enduring 2 years of Chris doonkie du du duhon...

There's one concern that I noticed so far from Felton , is his lack of awareness on the pick and roll. I will give him the benefit of the doubt and let him keep working that aspect of his game out. I think he has the mental capacity to do it.

Felton was a bad fit for most of the fans on this board here from day one. You're seeing exactly what he was with Charlotte except he's got the best big man he's ever played with to feed down low. Give it time to gel and I think the Knicks are a playoff team.
