I'm rooting for the Rangers though. Josh Hamilton. His story is pretty incredible.

Who cares abt junkies? The same thing with Ron. Its not abt being black in general its about being a black manager. How much of those are around? Like 2? Plus Ron would be the second black manager to take home a chip. Plus he has redeemed himself from the coke thing.

that doesnt make too much sense lol
So i'm always supposed to see the Yankees win? If the Knicks are down 3-0 and losing by 30 with a minute left in game 4 can I not root for the winninng team to take the whole thing? Im so sick and tired of this thought of fandom being str8 family. I root by percentages. 75% Yankees then I give 25% to teams I like as an underdog. Being a Yankee fan isnt all that great anyway. If I had a choice of watching history being made that I doubt Id see again to the Yankees who can just buy a team whenever they want Im taking the historic game.

Ya man Ron deserves it.

Cito Gaston with blue jays was the last black manager who won world series back to back 92 and 93

Actually he doesn't. He doesn't deserve to have a job after what he did. He's very lucky but make no mistake he does not deserve anything whether he's black, white or magenta.

The Yankees are back! The Yankees from 2002-2007 that is.. They don't deserve this series at all. Props to Texas for outplaying them in ever facet of the game. They've had so many opportunities to break open games in this series and have failed every time except that 1 inning in game 1. I'm not surprised of their awful play because this season they just did not carry the same vibe as last year.
Make the Knicks great again!

When I first heard Matsui singed with another team the first thing that came to my mind is I sure hope this does not come back to haunt the Yankees in October.

Would the Yankees be up 3-1 right now if Matsui was still a Yankee?

Absolutely!!!

Racism....
Skin color really has little to do with managing at this point. Don't know of any Jewish managers off of the top of my head, but one of them winning would likely be rare. You just said you did not care about someone beating an addiction, then gave accolades to the manager for doing the same.

I am cheering for TX because my Mets are done (and they suck) so right now I can cheer for TX and SF. Also TX is just a fun team to watch, they have Frenchie and Ron (our announcer) keeps talking about him during the TBS games even when he is not playing. good stuff

Matsui would not have made any difference at all, unless he was able to somehow become a great pitcher overnight. Yes our bats were awful, but our pitching was horrendous. Need to fix that first before we start looking for new hitters.
