Yeah, did the Ritalin thing when I was younger... And that did nothing positive and much negative.

Straterra... seems to be doing alright, so far. Honestly, I'm not noticing a HUGE difference. I wrote long-ass posts when I was unmedicated, and I write long-ass posts whilst medicated. Basketball interests me, it'll hold my focus one way or another.

Ah well, I guess I'll just have to--

Hey, look! A castle!! *swim swim swim*

" We already covered Griffin; I'm just as excited for DeMarcus Cousins, a polarizing draft prospect who vindicated the "Look, I Don't Care If He's a Little Crazy, You Don't Pass On Guaranteed Double-Double Guys!!!!!" camp with a breakout preseason. Cousins and Tyreke Evans????? No. 9 might be too low for the Kings. Can't wait to see them.'

I love Bill Simmons.

He's right. Cousins will probably have foul trouble for at least the first half of the season, but I can't fathom him having a season worse than 15/9 in 31 mpg, especially since he'll be getting the lion's share of the minutes to start the year.

He may have an ugly FG% for a while because he likes some long jumpers, but if the Kings' coaching staff is clever, they'll have him dominating pretty fast. He looks like he'll be a pretty nasty offensive player at worst, and the Suns have shown that even with a violently terrible defender, as long as he's amazing on O, you can make the CFs in a deep conference. And I don't think Cousins is going to be a terrible defender at all, just not All-Defensive-caliber.

Cousins will struggle big time defensively at first with rotations and communication, but one thing he'll have from day one is size and strength.

I don't know if I can see him getting 31mpg this year--even without Dalembert for the first few weeks.

C'mon... big with offensive talent? 22nd in the league in offense last year? He'll get some burn, particularly if Westphal is anything like he was in L.A.

EDIT: I do that every time... WestHEAD. WestHEAD coached the Lakers. Damnit.

He'll get around 24mpg. His conditioning still isn't great, he's still going to make a lot of mistakes, and we still have a very crowded frontcourt.

Well right now, 24 mpg is about all he can last before fouling out so...I think as soon as the season starts the quick whistles will start to fade and he get more than 24 a game if he's playing well. Westphal hasn't been shy in the past about using guys for long stretches and riding them until they fall.

We'll see. When the team starts to realize that they can win games when he's on the floor with Evans, they'll let him play through foul trouble and let him play himself into shape a little bit and by mid-season, I think he'll start getting up there. I wouldn't be at all surprised to see him have a 24/34 minutes split across the All-Star break or the half-way mark.

I think we are close. This year is going to be a rollar coaster but a fun one. Tyreke and Cousins are going to be a great 1 to 2 punch.

Return to Sacramento Kings
