Steelers Draft Day

Post#1 » by SD2042 » Fri Apr 25, 2008 10:00 pm

The draft will be on Saturday and the Steelers will have a busy day on their hands. They will select #23 in the first round of the draft. The Steelers will also have a big event set in place for the fans to attend at Heinz Field starting at 1:00 PM in the afternoon. Good luck to the Steelers in this weekend's draft.

We needed help on the offensive line and the defensive line, so we take a running back and a big wide receiver. I don't dislike the picks, but they don't really address our most pressing needs IMO. I wanted us to take a RB and a WR, but I figured we could do it in the reverse order in which we are going about it.

#53 Linus Sweed

Normally the Steelers go defense first and pick some offense in between. Like you, I wish they dealt with offense or defense line first, then deal with picking up some offense in the middle of the draft.

Maybe it's just me, but I think these are terrific picks. We will have a explosive offense next year, but I do agree we need some help on the O-Line.

I liked the picks. I am just not sure we helped ourselves in the areas where we needed the most help. We did take an OT in the 4th I believe that has the talent but a long history of leg problems from what I read on him.

To add on to what el loco said, Tony Hills does have a history of injuries dating back to high school. With this info, I can't say if this guy will stick with the Steelers too long. They may waive the guy sooner or later unless he finds a way to stick around.

Me too. I just didn't expect the Steelers to be the team to pick him. Good surprise there.

I notice that on Steelers.com they change the link to the current player being profiled, the links on the last 2 players takes you to the most recent profile. WTF is up with that?
