He played a ton in preseason games.

What did you all think of Dowdell? I wanted my Heat to pick him up when he went undrafted, but apparently he hasn't caught on anywhere.

Nice offensive skills - got a decent floater and a nice jump shot.

Needs to learn how to distribute the ball more, and take fewer shots.

Did a bit of research on Dowdell.

According to some pretty old scouting reports, he plays excellent defense.

He may not have starter potential, as he hasn’t really ever shown he can dish out a lot of assists consistently, but he runs his team pretty well, can hit the spot-up shot from outside, has a very tight handle, plays excellent defense, and was probably the most deadly player pulling up from mid-range here, being nearly automatic coming off his crossover in the lane.

This poor guy was projected to go as high as 27th in the 2007 Draft. But he was left out in the cold. I feel really sad for him to be honest. :(

Yeah, i know what you mean - It's a hard thing. These guys work their guts out and make the jump for one level to the next, and then work harder for that last jump to the payday and .... that's it. Hang on for a few years in Europe or the D-League.

I think it's probably easier for the guys who get to college and realize, "I'm just not gonna make it as a pro." The guys on the cusp though, heartbreaking

He actually IS a pro. Outside of NBADL he played some Euroleague action. That's successful to be honest. Our FO had some reason to cut him. He had like 3 shots at making an NBA roster. All with Phoenix. Why the hell he wouldn't try this year somewhere else to make it into the league? I don't think he got many invitee-offers.
