Farewell McDyess, almost

Post#1 » by TAI8 » Sun Oct 10, 2010 2:53 am

Spurs forward Antonio McDyess doesn't plan to play past this season.

McDyess, 36, is San Antonio's oldest player.

"I didn't know what to expect when they signed me (in 2009), and I'm glad to be back," McDyess said, "but I think this is it. I'm the oldest player (on the Spurs) now, and I feel like it. I'm not trying to see any more years. I'm pretty sure this is it.

"My body just can't take it. I'm not Juwan Howard. I can't believe he's still out there, even though he is in great shape."

Well, we kind of knew that

He is a great player and a great guy. I would love to see him retiring with a ring.

Hopefully he can help us this season, especially in the playoffs. He played great against the Mavs last season.
Shaq on Duncan:SA won because of TD, a guy I could never break.I could talk trash to Ewing, get in D-Rob's face, get a rise out of Mourning, but when I went at Tim he’d look at me like he was bored and say:“Hey,Shaq, watch this shot right off the glass.”

Let's send him off with a ring. He's a class act and been thru a lot in his career, a championship would be a great way to retire.

I think he knows the writing is on the wall, with the development of Blair, the addition of Splitter and the resigning of the offseason, Red Rocket. We're loaded.

Great player and a great guy. Lets end his career with a championship.

Dice can still be a weapon comes playoff time. Even for just 15 min a game he can be productive.

Dice started off the season very slow last year and I wondered if he had anything left in the tank.

He definately didnt disappoint by playing amazing on Dirk.

Now that Pop has some legitimate Bigs hopefully he can rest Dice and not have to play him so many mins. 15-18 mins per would be perfect.

And yes Dice is a class act and a model Spur.
