I hope they keep Hudson and Martin. I really like the energy and skillset Hudson possess and that he's got a career in the association.

PG - Wall/Hinrich
SG - Arenas/Young/Hudson
SF - Howard/Thornton/Martin
PF - Blatche/Yi/Booker
C - McGee/Armstrong/Seraphin

I doubt Hudson, Martin, Booker or Seraphin feature much in the rotation however.

The first 12 are pretty easy(guarranteed money):
Gilbert Arenas
Kirk Hinrich
John Wall
Yi Jianlian
Andray Blatche
Josh Howard
Al Thornton
Nick Young
Javale McGee
Kevin Seraphin
Trevor Booker
Hilton Armstrong

IMO Martin makes the team. He might be the only non-guaranteed guy who does. I don't think Hamady Ndiaye is worth a roster spot. Morrison is a poor-man's Yi best case, which isn't enough to justify keeping him. I think there are enough guards that Hudson is expendable.

I think the Wizards keep one or two spots open to pick up promising cuts from other teams and/or promising D-Leaguers,

Sounds about right, Gils questionable health may lead to Lester getting a non-guaranteed deal.

Simply based off of what I've seen, Cartier Martin is a better fit than Al Thornton.

IMO, Al was set as a bad fit once we won the lottery.

If we'd come away with drafting Monroe or something, I could have seen Al as a featured scorer on gutterball club as he can at least create his own shot when things are right slog footed. But Al's not particularly well disposed to play off guards, space the floor or work within the confines of team play. And when I say "not particularly well disposed to".....you know......

I am happy for Cartier.

I anticipated Morrison's last game and Cartier's sparse minutes signaled things were going to go the other way.

Thank-Goodness Morrison wasn't signed, I was truly worried because Rico (Ernie's man) was justifying signing him.

Edit: What about Hudson? I'm assuming Martin's deal will not be guaranteed.

What did you expect Ernie to say?

I'm glad they're not wasting any more time with Morrison. He's not an NBA player.

Rico was justifying the possible signing of Ammo to the team after pre-season...kind of a pre-emotive strike in-case Ernie did sign Ammo.

Morrison and Marks?

We lost a lot of good men with bad hair out there today, Gentlemen. :nonono:

Ammo took it stoically though, here's what he looked like when he heard the news.......

LyricalRico wrote:Everything I'm seeing and hearing is pointing towards Morrison actually making the team. For all his faults, I could see him having a role as a pure spot up shooter and that's probably why they want him out there with Gil/Wall since he spreads the floor better than Thornton.

And to be honest, Lester Hudson looks a lot like a poor-man's Arenas. What might hurt him is that the team already has Gil and Hinrich who will be playing as undersized 2's. Do they really want to add another?

The last roster spot will probably be between Palmer and Marks, unless N'Diaye (who I continue to really like) isn't signed for this season.

Adam Morrison, Sean Marks released WP Insider.
http://voices.washingtonpost.com/wizardsinsider/

The Wizards on Thursday released former No. 3 overall pick Adam Morrison and 10-year veteran Sean Marks. Their roster now stands at 15, with Cartier Martin, Lester Hudson and Hamady Ndiaye still hoping to make the final roster on Oct. 25.

The roster is not finalized, according to two leagues sources, with the Wizards planning to evaluate Martin, Hudson and Ndiaye over the next few days. The Wizards still need bodies for practice, with Josh Howard yet to recover from his left injury. They can also hold on to all three players without having their contracts become fully guaranteed until January.

So what were you seeing and hearing ? You must have not had on your glasses and left the hearing aid on the dresser. Just messing with you bro. :D

The basketball God continue to shine on us. Thank God Ammo isn't going to stay here. I watched as much as my stomach would allow.

I think the saying is actually "sometimes the best move you make is when you cut Adam Morrison".

His problem is just that he doesn't have an NBA body. I hadn't seem him for years and years, but that was apparent after about five seconds on the court here. That's probably what killed his confidence level too.

If you could just fuse he and Nick Young's strengths together, you'd have a respectable 6th man. Unfortunately.....

Nick's nick man is Scarecrow or Mr Einstein or Mr Stein.

To bad Shaq took The Big Aristotle.

I was hoping Ammo would get cut. Now I'm still waiting to hear about the Nick trade. I hate that he teased us with that one big rebounding game. We will probably be waiting another year before we see that again. Keep Martin, trade Nick. Martin will be more reliable as an option at SF along with AT and Howard.

Martin is more of a balance player and can play some tough ball. Nick is still a goofy kid.

hands11 wrote:So with Howard not ready before about December, that opens a slot, right ?

I think we are going to give Nick a good short at playning SF which I personally really like because it is th best chance we have to teach him to rebound more.

Wall/Kirk
Gil
AT/Nick
Dray/Yi
McGee/Armstrong/Seraphin

Kirk 50% at PG and SG
Nick 50% SG and SF
Booker as defensive Jerad Jefferies type.

9 or 10 man rotation with Seraphin getting worked in slowly in limited minutes.

This is going to be so interesting this year. So many players could step up. Actually, I like that
Howard wont be ready to start. We have a lot to look at.

So we have one roster spot open until Howard is ready.
Howard ETA Dec.

Wall/Kirk
Gil/Kirk/Nick
AT/Howard/Booker/Nick
Dray/Yi
McGee/Armstrong/Seraphin

That 12

Booker as defensive Jerad Jefferies type SF.
Nick SG and SF as offense
Kirk PG and SG
Yi C and PF

Hudson
Martin
Hamady

That makes 15

Seeing what we already have from Nick over the years and where he probably fits on the depth chart as both SG and SF, it seems best to me if we can trade him for a pick and cash. If we move him we can plug in Hudson and as the last bench guard. The kid showed some heart and range with those buzzer beaters. If he ends up better at PG, then Kirk just player more as a back up SG.

I see SF as less of a concern since we have at least 5 players who can get minutes there even without Nick. AT/Howard/Booker/Yi/Kirk

So if we can dump Nick, the team average IQ goes up 50 pts and we get back down to 14 contracts.

Nooooooooooooooo! Not Ammo! I was pulling for him, but oh well.

Some interesting cuts by other teams. Stephane Lasme anyone?
