Manny Harris.
so, we're most likely cutting Danny Green for this guy but hey I think it's very well worth it, been so far so good, this could be the steal of the draft that never happen for Manny, I say that's our new starter at SG position, finally got that out the way now.

Re: Manny Harris.
I cant believe this guy was not drafted. He did not play much in summer league but still may have been hurt, but i watched alot of big ten hoops and he can score plain and simple and is a pretty good defender. remids me alittle of jamal crawford who played at michigan as well. I think the cavs would be utter stupid to cut this guy, someone would grab him in a minute. Let the kids play and finish at the bottom and get high picks so we can build this thing back up the right way.

Re: Manny Harris.
Its sad because I really like Danny, but he simply doesnt fit this kind of offense. If you are going to play guard for Scott then you better be able to bring the ball up court and make your own shot. Green can do neither and we have too many SF's as it is already. He'll likely sign on relatively quickly elsewhere for a team that needs a 3 point shooter, maybe even Miami.
I wish we could just get rid of Parker instead, but it looks like we are stuck with him until we can unload his expiring, or convince some contender that he would be a solid piece.
One thing is certain though, there is no way Manny doesnt make this team.

Anthony Parker doesn't belong on this team, much less as a starter.
much respect to the 2011-2012 champions, Miami Heat, well deserved

I think Byron is starting Parker out of respect, and with Parker playing overseas he has a better understanding of an offense predicated on ball movemnt and players moving without the ball. However, I think an up tempo gameplan will wear him out earlier in games and leave more minutes for Harris, Boobie, and or Sessions whoever is behind him on the bench.

I don't understand the conclusion that Parker doesn't fit on this team. Yes he's old, but his style of play is a good fit. He's a transitional talent, nothing wrong with that.
As for Manny, what I've read is that he was projecting towards greatness through his Freshman year, then just stopped getting any better. I have no idea why he stalled, but based on his college career I don't think it can be assumed that he'll grow into an NBA starter. That's why he wasn't drafted, people doubt his upside.

I agree with your statement on Parker. Players like Jamison have no purpose on this team, but Parker is cheap, on an ending deal, and fits the Princeton offense very well. He will not play heavy minutes, so it is not like he will really hinder the development of our SG prospects.
Well at least we're not Detroit!

I liked Danny Green so I'm not a huge fan of waiving him. But Manny Harris has looked great to me. I like his aggressiveness pushing the ball.
He was solid at Michigan as well, like some others have said I'm surprised he was not drafted.
We have a logjam at the PG spot now though, someone will have to go (probably Mo)

We've only got one PG on the roster. What we actually have is a logjam at 'undersized SG', lol. Hopefully those guys prove they can play interchangably in the small backcourt Scott has planned.

^True, none of them are pure PG's outside of Sessions.

Re: Manny Harris.
Here is a post I made on the Celtics board on June 25th when Boston signed Deshawn Sims. I was very high on Manny Harris per-draft. I was disappointed that he went undrafted but I'm glad to see him with the Cavs.

I was hoping we'd pick up Manny Harris and see how he'd do in summer league. Deshawn Sims is interesting too I suppose.

I'm excited to see how Harris develops. I think him and Samuels could be good players for us considering they were not drafted. It should also be interesting to see if Christian Eyenga can develop.
We still have that trade exception, so I am hoping we either add draft picks for the future or young talent. Since Cleveland is not seen as a NBA hot spot destination, I think we should take a chance on someone like Greg Oden at an affordable price. While I get the sense he is ok with being in Portland, I think he would like a change of scenery, perhaps back to the midwest.

A lot of great players like Duncan are content to stay with the team that drafts them. It's just that the primadonnas get all of the press and we were unfortunate to get the biggest one of all.

That's true. Places like San Antonio and Oklahoma City have kept supertars happy. What they haven't done is sign star free agents.
Cleveland is never going to win those battles if the money is close. Even after this summer the reality is the guys you really want rarely move in free agency.

we'll see how OKC turns out after everybody's off their rookie contracts and wants real money.

It looks like they (OKC) are playing hardball with Jeff Green already. I like that team, and hope they can keep it together.
