Shaq basically just called Robin out after a game, more or less calling him soft. I remember him saying something about Robin just standing there like a tree watching scrubs go around him. Robin responded pretty positively as I recall.

I meant with his play on the court, from what i remember he didnt say s#it, or if he did it was the standard "Shaquille's entitled to his opinion" response.

I obviously dont remember it that well, hopefully someone else does.

Wasn't that the one where Shaq called him out and he basically said something a long the lines of, "well if you guys (starters) weren't stinking it up so much we wouldn't be out there playing at all".

I am not sure, I remember reading something like that, but not sure if that was the actual incident. I am pretty sure at the time RoLo was only playing garbage minutes, which makes the comment even funnier.

Yeah, something along those lines. It was probably the best thing Shaq did for us.

I mean in terms of his "legacy" considering we didn't make playoffs or anything.

Shaq:

"Put somebody on their (expletive) back," O'Neal said. "Don't let nobody oopsey-doopsey layup on you, then be laughing at you. You ever see me get dunked on? No. Because I put (expletives) on their back. Period.

"That's what I told him. If he's going to be a big man, be a big man. Don't be out there (expletive) around. Lay somebody on their (expletive) back. Wilt (Chamberlain) told me that. Bill Russell told me that. Hakeem (Olajuwon) told me that. All the great big men told me that.

"You lay someone on their (expletive) back. That's what I told him. I don't give a (expletive) who likes it. As a big man, that's what you've got to do. Can't let people do oopsey-doopsey layups on you, laugh at you.

"Do something. Either block it or lay them on their back. Period. That's what you've got to do as a big man. Don't flop. Lay them on their (expletive) back. That's what I was taught and that's what I'm trying to teach him, instead of being out there like a (expletive) loose tree, blowing in the wind."

Couldn't find Lopez's reaction. Don't remember what he said, either.

Shaq was only our best player statistically. The team suffered more for what he done.

That was prompted after Lopez got smashed on in a Portland game - shaq went off at Lopez on the bench and Lopez jumped up and was yelling back

Shaqs quotes are what he said when asked about the incident after the game

Well this shall prove to be helpful for RoLo's development. This also happens to be my basketball mentality as well. If I can't block a shot, I'll knock them down. Oh wait, I'm not good at blocking shots. I guess someone better not get to the paint...

Anyways, I remember reading about that "picking up the starters' mess" as well.
