this also means winning AL East or wildcard in Al East doesn't guarantee a World Series finalist.

Bengie Molina is guaranteed a World Series Ring because he played for both teams. Pretty cool. All 3 Molina brothers have a world championship ring. Nice bloodline

I have no rooting interest for this series, and quite frankly am not too pumped to watch it other than the Lee/Lincecum matchup. I guess if I had to pick, I would root for Texas to give them a little bit better of a shot to keep Lee in the offseason.

I think this is an awesome matchup to tell you the truth. Not for tv ratings, but as a baseball fan in general, I think this is going to go down to at least 6-7 games.

The Giants were 92-70 this season. The Rangers were 90-72.

• The team that averages more runs per game in the regular season has won 11 of the past 14 World Series. That would favor the Rangers, who averaged 4.86 runs per game to the Giants' 4.30 runs per game.

• The team with the better regular-season batting average has won 14 of the past 20 World Series. That would favor the Rangers, who hit .276 to the Giants' .257.

• The team with the better regular-season ERA has lost 15 of the past 19 World Series. The Giants had a 3.36 ERA in the regular season. The Rangers were at 3.93.

I was looking forward to Philly/Yankees, so this series is a huge letdown for me. Let's get this over with and start the off-season.

Wasn't expecting the score to be this high and I definitely wasn't expecting the Giants to rough up Lee like they did.

It seems to me based on those stats the AL should dominate the NL in the World Series.

I imagine in most years the AL team would average more runs with a higher batting average, and the NL team would have a lower ERA.

Uh, congrats Brian Sabean? Feels so weird to say. So many unlikely things went in their favor this season. Cody Ross and Andres Torres delivering beautifully on their pickups, Freddy Sanchez stepping up, Edgar Renteria shaking off the cobwebs. Hooray for parity but I can't help but think we were as good as the Giants.

talent wise I think we're better overall. They're pitching just happens to be ridiculous and they just went on a roll at the right time.

Anyways congrats to them. Since Yankees/Sox didn't win it I'm pretty satisfied lol.

This has got to be one of the least exciting World Series ever. Even the media seemed to be asleep while it was going on. Heck, even when Toronto got into the WS those two years the U.S. media had some good coverage on it and it generated a fair degree of hype from south of the border despite featuring a non-American team in the matchup.
