Both of these players are former second round picks who have been slow to develop. They have been criticized for their work ethic by Sloan. They have been kept by the Jazz based on their potential. This season CJ added some muscle and Fesenko lost some weight and for the most part both looked good in preseason. Which player is most likely to have a breakout season this year?

Most likely is CJ since he has shown more with more consistency thus far. Fes will have the bigger impact for the team if he does actually have a break out year.

I've gotta go with CJ. CJ tasted it last year and has shown he can perform when it counts, just needs to be consistent. Our current roster is begging for CJ to step up, and there are already better players ahead of Fes. That being said, I think Fes will have a strong year, and be the Jazz MIP. CJ doesn't necessarily need to improve a whole lot. Consistency will get him where he wants to be... and a dash of Raja style defense.

I gotta say fes, I don't think CJ has far to go before he reaches his ceiling, I think what we witnessed in the playoffs last year is about where he is going to be the rest of his career.

Fes on the other hand has a long way to go before his potential tops out.

I think it depends on your version of "break-out" season. If it is increasing your production or value over what it was prior then I think that Fes is the obvious choice because he will get his first opportunities to make an impact throughout an entire season (I think he will be good to, maybe a 5 and 3 type player).

But if you are talking about becoming a major part of the team, such that a game without you would be a likely loss I think that CJ's the winner because we would have to rely on Bell, Price and Hayward to replace his production.
