Why else you think you got him for half price?

Because the Portland FO constantly drafts athletic, full court players for a system that is the complete opposite and thus brings down the trade value of most of their players?

Webster was drafted by John Nash under head coach Maurice Cheeks, and then played for a few years under Nate McMillan until he was traded by Kevin Pritchard on the same day he was fired.

Clearly it's just that 1 coach / GM's fault
Thank you for all the memories BRoy. You were a class act and brought hope to an entire region for 5 years. You will be missed.

I didn't necessarily mean it as a jab, but hasn't anyone noticed the contradiction that happens on that team?

Even just the last few years. Guys like Bayless, Batum, Williams, Fernandez and more are all guys that the FO targets despite the fact that they don't fit the coach's style of play.

Portland has done pretty well by drafting BPA. They definately have found some great wing players. I thought Oden would put them right up there with the Lakers, but I was wrong there. Ricky Rubio would be such a good fit there.

Oden when healthy is pretty close to the best center in the league...I may sound like a Portland homer by saying that even though I'm a Wolves fan. His only problems are fouls and the injury bug.

More reps for Wesley (hopefully he can stay healthy).

This is the second time this season a player waited on an injury that happened last season, and ended up needing surgery (1st Flynn and now Webster). I'm beginning to think going under the knife is the smart thing to do at the end of the year. Sure, you might miss out on some off season training, but at least you can play when it really counts.

Unfortunate but not shocking. At least we have some depth this year to buffer things like this. This is why I didn't jump on the trade-Brewer bandwagon after the first few preseason games.

That sucks. Hopefully Brewer can step his game up now or Johnson gets healthy fast.

I pray that Snipes's hammy is improving so we don't need to watch Brewer get lots of minutes.

If the hammy is a problem for Wes just give more minutes to Ellington

Geez, I never saw this coming.....

Brewer should be salivating at the mouth right now, gives Ellington and Johnson a chance to play good minutes off the bench and battle for the starting spot.

Bad news for Webster, hope he recovers well.

No! Web Head is out for over a month! Damn Portland and their fragility inducing training methods!

Warn New Orleans, it looks like they're going to have a catastrophe.

I know this message has nothing to do with basketball, but that Lesnar vs. Velasquez fight BLEW MY MIND. Especially considering it was right after that Shields vs. Kampmann snooze-fest. I CANNOT WAIT for Velasquez vs. dos Santos.

I have Webster in fantasy. I wonder if I should keep him stashed on the bench or drop him for Wes Johnson.

Yea Cain is a beast. I knew he was good but didn't think he was capable of that. He folded up Brock like a cheap suit. I hyped Cain up to my brother and even I was underrating him.

Cain was impressive, although I can't say I was hugely surprised by the outcome. The fight was destined to end brutally, no matter who won. I was most impressed with how easily Cain got up after being taken down; we already knew he outclassed Lesnar striking.
