Really? That sucks, it seems like everyone else has more advanced detectors - it's like you're using a Walkman when everyone else has moved on to iPods.

Oh Really?

Maybe because it has to do with the Magic being one of the best teams in the NBA.

He wants to join now....

Well....

I hope Otis Smith does not let him on the team, and if he is let on. SVG bench his ass for the entire season.

As pointed out earlier, it very well and likely is a leverage ploy to get one last massive contract in Spain.

I have no doubt we're looking at trading his rights. Just a matter of what they think they can/should get for him. May just be a 2nd Rounder at this point which is looking pretty damn good right about now.

There's no point discussing this topic until the end of the postseason.

He did in fact talk up coming here the last time his contract was ending in Spain and he did get what he wanted there. This looks, smells and sounds like the same act he put on last time.

Some people got all excited last time all for nothing. I notice that some have forgotten that. Shame on us once but three times no way in hell is he leaving Spain.

Personally I hope he comes here. The Frankenstein joke potential would be through the roof.
My 2 cents is worth 5 cents.

I like Fran Vasquenstein. Marketing potential. Did they win the Euro championship? If so, he's here next season.

Wolves fan here, and I have a offer you can't refuse :

Wolves gives you Corey Brewer for free.

Let's see, if Vazquez stays in Spain, his value is ZERO for you. But we can convince him because we'll have Rubio in 2011.

Forget Rubio, nobody will take this bait, we give you Corey Brewer and a Rubio's poster and we want Vazquez's rights.

You mustn't forget Fran ends his contract this season, and all this stuff may be a strategy for renew with Barcelona.

Out of interest, why are Minnesota fans seemingly not so keen on Corey Brewer? Whenever I see him I feel like he's a useful player. Long, athletic, solid looking defender. Why are they so down on him?

I was thinking Brewer could help a contender now (unlike Vazquez), he improved a lot last year, he's a one-year audition, and he may have some fans. MIN may be willing to trade him (at least, if Webster does well from his surgery), to play their investements .. Webster, Beasley, Wes Johnson .. and Ellington had a nice pre-season. They are win-later, and the Rubio/Vazquez connection might encourage both to show up next year.

The problem though is making it work financially. MIN can take back a matching salary with no on-court productivity, but they won't want someone longterm. This may work best as a three-teamer, particularly one where you swap a guy like Vince Carter, and part of the package is a non-productive guy that wouldn't help you.

Minnesota has a million wings. I'd swap Fransexual for Corey Brewer faster than I'd wifeswap with Ryan Reynolds.

What makes more sense is for Orlando to trade Vazquez to Minny. Fran then gets to keep playing with Ricky Rubio (who is also likely to come stateside in 2011).

Orlando won't want Milicic in the trade, and one can wonder if the babywolves would include Nikola Pekovic in any deal. So, this would have to be a three team thing.

I doubt they give us Pekovic, who is one of the top bigs in Europe right now, and three years younger than Fran, unless Rubio himself said he really wanted Fran to be in Minny with him.

I know people are reticent to think about trading Ryno, Gortat or Bass, but if Fran comes over here with the intention of playing for Orlando (and I acknowledge the possibility that he is just using the Magic as contract leverage), at least one of them is expendable, and rightly so. People look at the few internet hilights they can find of him, and see that he averages 7.5 and 3.5 in the Euroleague, and assume he isn't good enough, or as good as those three guys. It's not a stretch to say that, right now, he is better. Ryno has so much potential, and in time he probably will be the better all round player, but Fran Vazquez is a better defender and has a higher basketball IQ than all three of those guys. Offensively he's not anything special, but he could do a passable job in Orlando, especially on a team that has so much offensive firepower that he'd be low on the list of defensive priorities.

Well put.
