the iverson trade is the death of the Nugs. Yes, they got Billups back in the end, but they have no system, no cohesiveness. Cancer is the only thing keeping Karl from being fired. He can't rebuild. That's not his style. He makes middle teams win 1st and 2nd round teams win extra. He is a good guy and coach, but not a champion.

I remember being so happy the day of the Iverson trade because I knew it would make life a lot easier for the Jazz.

That was an awful, awful trade. Can't believe Dumars thought he'd rather have Iverson than Chauncey either, but last season showed how little that trade mattered either.

Lets just enjoy this!

Even though both Matthews and Boozer had huge games that night, I don't miss them in the slightest. I am very excited to get this season underway.

No way you guys lose this one unless Al Jefferson goes in to black hole mode, but I don't think Deron or Sloan will let that happen. Let's knock Denver out of the race early :D
Thank you for all the memories BRoy. You were a class act and brought hope to an entire region for 5 years. You will be missed.

Well I signed up for comcast ... can't wait for this game!! (love the road games..)

I do think Denver is better with Al Harrington but then again half the team is injured.. or getting older..or trying to leave Denver so hopefully our chemistry issues are fixed.

I had a dream we lost 98-104 last night. The break down after the game was that Bell was too confined to the 3-pt line on O.

Haha! That's a really specific dream (Bell's offensive game). Hopefully it's not a premonition.

If that's the main reason we lost it must mean we traded Deron and AK for picks after Al, Millsap and CJ go down for the season with injuries....

Jazz will win this one after Denver sees Fesenko score 8 straight points, block a couple shots and grab a few rebounds. Melo looking disgusted and yelling at his bigs will be fun to watch again....

Win or lose somebody knock Carmelo's teeth out so we don't have to see his stupid smirk any more. For the first time in a while the Jazz have several players on their team who can do it.

Sloan has named the starters:
Jazz coach Jerry Sloan on Monday officially named Deron Williams, Raja Bell, Andrei Kirilenko, Paul Millsap and Al Jefferson as the team's regular-season starters.
There is a chance that Bell will be replaced by C.J. Miles in the starting lineup if Bell's injured shoulder flares up. It is unlikely, though.

The Jazz should win this game. The Nuggets are missing two big time rotation guys, and should be very thin up front. I look for big games from Big Al and Millsap, and Deron usual domination of Chauncey. Also CJ tends to play well against the Nuggets so hopefully his ankle is feeling better.

I look for the Jazz to send a message early to the Nuggs and Suns and show we are not just a lower seed in the west this year!

If no homecourt in the firstround, then season will = disappointing....

Lets go Jazz.

Billups helped the Nuggets get into the western conference finals, I don't think trading AI had anything to do with the problems the Nuggets face today, which is all due to a lack of healthy front court players.

Also a fan of the team with Jerry Sloan as a coach, should never talk about a coach not being a champion.

To be fair he didn't say that WASN'T true of Jerry Sloan. You make a good point - in fact I I had the same thought when I read the post the first time -- "That sounds a lot like another coach I know..."

Are you guys serious? Sloan not a champion? You guys do realize he would be had he not ran into the most dominate player and team in the history of basketball right?

I'm sorry but the Sloan hate is totally and utterly stupid.

Back on topic...
I'm super excited for this game, I think it is a great opportunity for the team to get some confidence early. I want to see a double digit win or I'll be disappointed.

Woulda coulda shoulda.... only twice was Sloan's team knocked out of the playoffs by Jordan's Bulls. They came up well short many other times. "They would've won in '99 had they not been knocked out by Rasheed Wallace!!"

I'm sorry but the Sloan hate is totally and utterly stupid.

No hate here. Strictly speaking Sloan isn't a "Champion." He's a great coach, but I've always felt that his teams have a lower ceiling than guys like Phil Jackson or Pat Riley but a much higher "floor" than any other coach.

And back on topic: I think the Jazz could easily lose this game and I won't be too disappointed if they do. It's a tough situation to open up in the building of the team they humiliated in the playoffs last year.
