Re: Garret Siler ??
I wasn't so excited about Siler before but now I'm quite interested. More so than I am for Dampier. Siler is still young, runs well for a guy his size and I think he can slim down if he continues to workout with the Suns. He's a very low risk guy who could be a surprise.

Good question. Baby came out with a fire underneath him when he had to step up. Not sure if Siler will get the chance to play many minutes to show what he can do. But it would be nice to see him go all out while he is the game. I think we need all our bench players to do that, similar to last year. That bench seemed to motivate the starters, and in turn, made a cohesive unit that played for each other more than just themselves (well at least almost everyone.)

Anyone know where to find a torrent of the last pre-season game ?? You will see his desire and hustle............

The thing you have to remember though, Big Baby was a star in college - one of the biggest names at the time. Siler strikes me as having the size but not the raw talent. I have extremely little exposure to Siler though so I can't claim to be a good judge.

Preseason is tough to gauge. The game I did see, his passion was just ok. If he doesn't get the minutes though, it won't really matter. Right now, we would have to have either Lopez and Frye in foul trouble, both to be royally sucking, or the opposing big man to be crushing us inside to see minutes from him. Since Portland is limited in their bigs, I just don't see it for this first game. In the next upcoming games, only Orlando has the tough center at the moment that will be difficult for Lopez to guard.

But on the flip side this might be a great opportunity for him to get some good minutes against lighter competition to build his confidence ??......Personally I don't think he will get many minutes, well unless it's a rout one way or the other, but I do think that once he does get some minutes he will surprise some people.......

Well he must have impressed the coaches, or we would still be looking for another big, and he would have been waived. I hope he turns out to be great.

Been pretty impressed with his play so far. Although he's obviously not completely NBa ready yet. A couple of year of development and I can see him being a solid player.

Offensively he's a liability but there's potential defensively. He's a bit slow at times but you can see he recognises pretty quickly when a rotation must be made and when there's a shot to be challenged he's there about 60% of the time. At this point, he can be serviceable just by working on is conditioning I reckon.

I like Siler man. I really do. He's a big body to clog up the paint and can shoot the ball well but needs to work on his form.

Looks like we have a year to work on him - no 'sky is falling' drama or anything, just what it is - we're going to be a .500 or better team this season but not any kind of contender I don't think -
give the kids minutes and see what we habe moving forward. I want to see Clark out there too - let him make his case on the court

+1. Its unfair to call him a bust when he hasn't had a chance to prove himself.
