Re: Nash is Frustrated.
I'm just saying that if we had offered him the initial deal at $14m a year, even if we guaranteed his last 2 seasons, it would've still came out cheaper than the final offer we gave him at the max level with only 2 years guaranteed. At $14m a year, even if he takes one season off, we'd still be getting our money's worth with 3 seasons of all-star level production. Unless, of course, you are betting the bank that he's definitely getting injured one way or another in these 4 seasons.
Keep in mind I was most definitely not one of those fans who wanted Sarver to throw every last cent to keep Amare.

Exactly. Channing Fry for 30 million? Trading for Hedo??? Ok sure, you're not using Barbosa. Does not mean you need to trade him for one of the laziest guys in the league (Suns are my second favorite team. So I felt a lot of joy, and some pain after this deal).
Replacing Amare with Hakim isn't awful, but it just means you have a homeless man's Amare. So you've done nothing there.
The only move I liked by the Suns in the offseason was signing Childress. Childress is a genuinely good player. Efficient, plays defense, rebounds, looks awkward but gets it done.
I have to agree. I thought Frye was a little overpaid after one season with the Suns (that happens) but he's an integral part of our offense so I'll let it slide. I didn't and still don't understand the Hedo for LB trade. I know LB wanted out and that's fair enough but Hedo isn't exactly cheap and I never really saw him as the answer to anything.
I would've been fine with just a signing Warrick, Childress and re-up Lou. Not exactly the ideal contending roster but I like it better than having to start Hedo at the 4 and possibly push Dudley to end of the depth chart making him play the 2.

Re: Nash is Frustrated.
Its always great to see the Amare haters pop up and blame him for everything. Good times. But the fact is, we are not going to be a better team without him. Plus, its all speculation about another injury. This theory everyone has about two years or so is total BS. It could happen to any player today, this season or in a few players and they are done.
The funny thing is, when people have complained, or said I am worried about this team, many would cry and said stop being chicken little crap. Its only the preseason etc. Now nash says it, and people see that its not just us who see there is going to be some issues facing this team. We do not have the luxury of trying to get chemistry and gelling etc.
I would have liked to see Sarver swallow his pride, take one for this team if you are going to resign nash and hill and go all in. I know Cuban would have done that. Bring in Hedo and Jchill and this team would be much better.
At best, this team is going to be a first round exit from the playoffs.

I wouldn't say I am betting the bank, but since the FO was so hesitant to offer the extension, and then after his knee checkup, they offered him that deal. It seems like I would trust the medical staff over Amare's word. So yes, I think he will be injured very soon. In fact if D'Antoni is going to run him 37 minutes a game, I say he gets injured this year.
Oh well, there is nothing we can do about it now, and it seems that Nash is looking forward, and trying to make this team gel.

Re: Nash is Frustrated.
we have no idea what Amare's knee is like - (someone posted some time ago explaining how he was actually in very little risk of reinjury due to the type of problem he had) - that said, he will get a lot of wear and tear with Mike D, certainly
But that's NY's problem now
for us - how about this: Hedo for Eddie Curry, straight up.
The we buy out Currie for $600,000 (I believe) and voila - we've got some $$$ ($11m+) to play with, and we free up our roster so the guys we do have get more time, which ought to help chemistry.

I'm not sure NY would even do that. I think they want a good deal to come around (ie Melo) to use Curry or let him expire and go after Melo then.

Re: Nash is Frustrated.
give them a first rounder - that's what they need for Melo.
We have a lot of young guys anyway - this is one year we could do with not having a guaranteed salary
Actually, if we were willing to give up a pick, we could get a nice deal form NY, I believe

and i think lilfishi is right, btw - we should have re-upped Lou. He;s what we're missing, in large part

I felt that right from the beginning. We shouldn't have spent the money on Warrick, and just resigned Lou. It would have been better all the way around, and our second unit would have been almost the same. Guys that knew each other and trusted each other, just subtract LB and add Chill.

My thoughts exactly. Sarver blew his load too early with the Warrick signing, leaving no money for Lou.

I was under the impression the Nuggets wanted a decent 1st rounder from the Knicks, not a late 1st rounder from Orlando.

Yeah but where would we be at the PF position with Lou and Hedo? We need some type of a scorer. I don't think warrick is gonna be gawd, but I think he can put up some points at PF. I'd agree if we didn't have hedo.
Steve Nash is the point guard jason kidd wishes he was.

Warrick seemed more like a knee jerk reaction to placate the oooohs and ahhh dunk fans. Especially if he was going to come off the bench. If we are going to keep Frye at center, he needs a tougher hustle defensive player to help he stay focused, which is exactly what Lou is. Warrick, I am just not too sure of. Top that off with Lou being less expensive, who does all the dirty work that keeps plays alive.

Lou AND Warrick would be nice. No need to choose between the two.
I share Nash's frustration. Our franchise has had zero continuity. We get so, so close, and then we blow it all up again. It must suck to be him.

That was my point - we would have all of the new guys, just not Hedo. I know, i know - we didin't need Barbs, he didn't want to be here anymore and hedo didn't cost much more ....
but still. That last game i saw Hedo play, maybe it was GSW, he just looked completely lost out there
maybe things will come together as we go forward ...
I really like Warrick here, and Childress. I love Lawal and Siler, and Janning. I'm just really kiknd fo choked about hedo, and yeah, i know I'm late to this lynching.
