Azur- I think its pretty likely that someday you will look back and lump Larry Drew in with your group of Scrub coaches. And even funnier you put a hall of fame coach with the most all time wins on your list of bad coaches.

It doesn't do any good to try and explain to you why I think Crawford is going to struggle this season. You and I are pretty clearly on opposite sides of this. Soon enough we will be able to see what happens.

Don Nelson has pretty steadily been going downhill for the last decade of so. To call him a good coach would be like calling Al Davis a good owner because he won championships 25-30 years ago. Coaches, like players, can get better or worse.

I just don't see how last year wasn't an outlier for Crawford when it came to efficiency. I was a critic of Woody...but it's pretty clear that combo guards(Crawford,Flip,Lue)see a drop in assist rate and a SIGNICANT increase in eFG% when playing in Woodson's offense.

I'm not a Hawks fan but have rooted for your team in the past. With Miami and orlando being clearly better than you, the East being very weak after the top 6 teams and the NBA playoff seeding structure not allowing the 3rd place team in the top 4 seedings, how doers it feel to know before the season that no matter how well the team plays they can only be a 5 seed and you can almost play as poorly as anyone can imagine and still be a 6 seed ?

How do you Hawk fans feel that will impact the team and particularly the players not signed for next year?

I understand the thought that Woody's iso-ball gave Crawford so many shots, but he scored the majority of his points on open looks where he set up on the wing or drove through a hole in the defense. I believe he'll get just as many open looks in the new offense.

Again, don't overlook the motivating factor of his last big contract.

Sutrick- my opinion is that the Hawks ownership will not pay the luxury tax for a third place team in the division. So they won't pay the tax unless its for a legitimate star that can help the team get to the level of Miami and Cleveland.

As far as how it affects players not signed- I think they will let Crawford walk so they can pay Horford whatever it takes.

Killbuckner- I am full agreement with your thoughts. I've followed Jamal throughout his career and was happy he got a chance to be with a good team last year. I always thought he was best as a 6th man and his minutes should be defined by his play which in the past has been very inconsistent. He is one of the few NBA players that can get his shot off whenever he wants against whoever. I would never pay him what he is getting now and I wouldn't want him starting or have to consistently depend on Jamal to win.

I assume you are a Red Sox fan
