This is the key stretch for the Brewers to prove themselves. So far 0-1.

When did I say that? I just said so far in this stretch against good teams you're 0-1. Gotta take at least one against the Mets if you want to be the best team in the NL.

People just look at the brewers lineup and they don't see a 50 home run hitter and scoff at it, that's alright. Our balanced team will come back and bite ya.

Is anyone else concerned that Francisco Cordero is on pace to pitch in 83 games?

Not really. He's gone over 80 innings before and pitched in 77 games last year. If he needs a day off We can go Villanueva/Wise/Turnbow in the 7th, 8th and 9th. Plus Capellan is in the minors so if we need another bullpen arm we can call him up and send down Spurling who only pitches in blowout games anyways.

You gotta love all these Brewers fans who just post in this one thread who are like hey guys we are the bestest team this year, quit disrespecting us, you'll all pay!*

*No disrespect to Brewer fans but the one time you have a winning record you think you're getting a little over excited?

Okay how about this. How about the Cardinals go 25 years without making the playoffs and 15 years without a winning record and see how excited you get. That's what it's been like, many Brewers fans including me have never seen a playoff team, I was 5 years old the last time the Brewers had a winning record, I'm 20 now.

the Brewers probably will win the division with all the other **** teams that play in the NL Central. But they're nothing to fear, best team in baseball? Not even close.

And you made this deduction after one game?

Look at the Tigers, nobody thought they had the bats to make it all the way to the World Series. What happened? Alot of their bats had career years. Same thing can happen to Milwaukee.

Not to mention that a rotation of Sheets, Suppan, Capuano and soon Gallardo is much better.. I repeat, MUCH BETTER... than the Mets rotation. And it's not even close.

Thats mostly my point, theres still what over 125 games left, don't get too excited it's not like your even close to the playoffs yet. Although theres a good chance you'll make them in 125 games a lot can happen.

I agree the Cardinals, Cubs, and Astros will all get on a run pretty soon. You guys have a tough road ahead of you now.

I wasn't basing my judgment on one game.

I guess you have a point, but I think it's fair to say that the Brewers lineup is nothing to fear.

Why bring the Mets into this? I thought this was a thread on the Brew Crew, not the Mets. And I don't think it's much better, maybe slightly. It all depends on the health of Sheets. But I would take the Mets rotation over the Brewers, maybe it's just me being a homer... :)

Going into today the Brewers had the 2nd highest OPS in the NL at .788 to NY's .799. After today, that could flip.

Prince and JJ Hardy are tied for 2nd in all of baseball in HR's. The Jenks/Mench platoon currently leads the majors in OPS for LF's. If you think that is a fluke, look at their career splits. Bill Hall hasn't gotten going yet and he had 35 HR's and 39 2B's last year; he finished with a higher SLG than Delgado last season. Estrada is hitting .303. Rickie Weeks hasn't gotten going yet but he's still on pace for 29 2B, 15 3B, and 24 HRs. The 3B platoon is terrible, but the Brewers may get Koskie back and they have perhaps the top prospect in AAA in Braun ready to come up in June.

I think it is foolish to think the Brewers offense isn't very good. The Mets offense is loaded, but the Brewers are right behind them in the NL. Combine that with perhaps the best rotation in the NL and the best 8th and 9th bullpen guys and you have a formidable team regardless of who they have played up to this point.

The brewers lineup is nothing to fear and yet they score 12 runs today and have 2 players tied for the NL lead in homers and close with rbi's.

That is you being a homer.... :)

Come on, Sheets, Capuano, Suppan and Gallardo is better than what the Mets are throwing out there.
